No new news to report, but looking back on last year and ahead to 2007, I am struck by the diversity of weddings we have played at. Diversity of venues- large, small, indoor, outdoor, hotels, churches and other places of worship, parks, mansions, theatres, and halls of all kinds. Diversity of cultural and religious traditions- Catholic, Jewish, Baha'i, agnostic, Christian, Chinese, Korean, Persian, African, Irish, and many more that I am forgetting. The diversity in ceremonies is not as easy to categorize, but we have been happy to hear poetry and verses from diverse traditions, varied ceremonies and elements, a beautiful variety of clothing, and we have been honored to play music from a wide variety of faith traditions and music from around the world. What these ceremonies all have in common is beauty. Love, and its expression in a wedding, is always beautiful. It touches the hearts of those present and leaves a lasting impression. If you are to be married this year, even in the midst of planning, decisions, and activity, please look ahead to your wedding day full of beauty and love.
