Music for cocktails?

If you're hiring live musicians for your wedding ceremony, consider having them stay an extra half-hour or hour for your receiving line or cocktail hour. For most ensembles, the price for the second hour is much lower than the first, and it makes a nice segue as guests visit with eachother, find their seats and/ or stand in the buffet line. You can request the style and mood of music that you like, and your guests can greet each other without having to shout over loud music.

Tips on having wedding in a TENT

If you are planning on having an outdoor celebration, I think it is a good idea to consider having a tent.

Tents, for me, are about ᄀᄃthe freedomᄀᄄ to have an event where, when and how you want it.

They allow you to enjoy the surroundings of stunning views, a historic site, a private beach front estate, a lush garden or even the sentimental back yard of your childhood home.

BENEFITS OF HAVING A TENT

At BEAU MARIAGE (Beautiful Weddings Hawaii), we aim to make our brides and grooms have a flawless wedding day.

After coordinating many weddings here is why a tent is beneficial if not crucial to have for your outdoor event:

PROTECTION FROM THE ELEMENTS:
The sun, rain, wind and protection from falling tree leaves or limbs, bird droppings.

DECORATION OPTIONS
A tent is an empty canvas that allows you to decorate as you choose without having to worry about working around a banquet roomᄀᆭs size, layout, carpet/drapeᄀᆭs colors, shape and features. You may transform the tent into an elaborately decorated space or create a simpler atmosphere.

MENU CREATION
You may choose a caterer that will create just the menu you really wish to have, even incorporating a family recipe.

BEVERAGE SELECTION
Beverages alcoholic or non- alcoholic can be less expensive when you buy them in bulk.

WAYS TO STAY SAFE

Having an event in a tent at your parentᄀᆭs back yard is a sentimental way to celebrate with all your loved ones. Having a happy and stress free event is what everyone loves. So stay safe with these suggestions, while enjoying every aspect of your celebration:

1. The ᄀᄃLifestyle Table Lampᄀᄄ, as suggested by Mr. Scott Rabe of ᄀᄃAccel Party Rentalsᄀᄄ
The wick is protected from the wind and there is no wax dripping.

2. Hurricane lamp:
The candle flame is protected by the glass surrounding it.

3. Luminaries
The Candela battery operated Luminaries. Like candles, they provide a beautiful ambient light, are safe, cool to the touch and are rechargeable.

4. Floating candles
Floating candles are very pretty and safe if placed in a deep bowl, keeping the water level low.

5. Hanging decorations:
Keep hanging decorations: chiffon fabrics/ ribbons or any ornaments, away from open flame of tall and free standing candles. Fabric must be treated with fire retardant solution.

6. Large tents must not be closed on all sides unless to be protected from the pouring rainᄀKeven then the doors, must swing or stay unlocked at all times for guests to come in and leave at liberty

VERY IMPORTANT / MUST HAVE

Captain Lorenzo of the ᄀᄃHonolulu Fire Prevention Bureauᄀᄄ suggests:
トX Fire extinguishers are necessary and must be handy.
トX Have a water hose within reach. Keep the water connection ready to be used.

トX Have the electrical wiring done by a professional/ licensed electrician, if you are hanging chandeliers inside the tent.

トX You are not required in Hawaii to get a permit, if you are hosting an event in a tent on a private property. If you are hosting one at a public park and need 2,100 square feet or larger, a permit is then needed.

Whatever you do, says Kristina Hailey of BEAU MARIAGE (Beautiful Weddings Hawaii) exercise common sense.

Have your champagne wishes and caviar dreams, in a tent while gazing at the starsᄀK How Romantic.

If you have any etiquette or event questions please feel free to email me Kristina@beaumariage.net
Special Thanks to captain Lorenzo for his suggestions.

HAVE A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT.

Tips for the Shy Bride

THE CENTER OF ATTENTION TO BE OR NOT TO BE

I recently had the honor of planning a wedding for one of my very special brideᄀKShy she wasᄀK came to me at the end of the Rehearsal and said:

I am scared and very nervousᄀKTomorrow, I Really do not want to be the center of attention.

Relax ᄀKhere are some tips on what you could do to keep the focus away from you.

CEREMONY
トX Keep your wedding ceremony informal and small ᄀKGreat in a garden or beach setting surrounded by a circle of family and friends.
トX Have your mom and dad escort you, if you really wish to have the traditional walk down the aisle, this way you have love and support by your side

RECEPTION

トX Have a small receptionᄀKInvite your closest family and friends.

トX Ask all the guests to wear ᄀᄃWhiteᄀᄄ or ᄀᄃOff whiteᄀᄄ which ever color you wish.

トX Sit with your parents instead of having a head table.

トX Have your bridal party sit with their significant other at different tables.

トX Consider changing from your wedding gown into a less formal gown/dress/pants suit, this way you feel as another guest.

トX Have a Variety of Entertainers, your wedding will be fun filled and keeps guests attention on the entertainers.

トX Have the reception in small restaurant with several rooms, so you may casually visit, welcome and enjoy your guests.

Remember, all you need to do on your wedding day, is to focus on the man you love the most and the one you chose to spend the rest of your life with. So whenever you feel nervous, look into his eyes and remember that he is the reason why you are in this beautiful white gown .

How to prepare for your music consultation

Before you come to your music consultation, consider the following:

-Who do you want music for? Grandparents? Parents? Does the officiant need music or will he/she magically appear before the ceremony begins? Knowing how many people will process down the aisle is vitally important to our coordination of music.

-You can see our full repertoire list on our website, and listen to many sound samples. Even if you don't know precisely which pieces you would like, you can let us know which ones you enjoyed the most and we can go from there.

-If you have a ceremony order, even a tentative one, please bring an extra copy so we can know the events of your wedding.

-Do you have a place for us to sit where we can see what is going on? We also require a tent or covering for outdoor events.

-Will you need to get music selections approved by your church? Are you going to list them in your program? If so, please be sure to get the correct spelling of title and composer.

-If you would like a special song, please request this and provide us with a piano score before the consultation so we can play it for you at the consultation.

-Do you want someone with you at the consultation to help you choose music? Some brides or grooms come alone, others together, and others with a best friend, parent, or child.

-We are happy to make suggestions, but the clearer you are about what you want (in terms of mood, style of music, etc), the better we can tailor our suggestions.

-Last but not least- Enjoy it! Sit back and be serenaded by beautiful live music. If you want to hear anything, or hear it again, just ask! (Bring tissues if you are the sentimental type..)
