WILL YOUR HONEYMOON TAKE A BACK SEAT?
Honeymoons too often can take a backseat to the arrangements and plans of your actual wedding, but you owe it to yourself to give your honeymoon planning greater and more careful attention. After all, while the wedding is mainly for your family and friends, the once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon that follows is a private getaway for you and your new spouse to celebrate your marriage. Though you may spend a portion of your vacation relaxing and reflecting on this major life change, your honeymoon is most of all an opportunity to enjoy being a newlywed, spending quality time with your new spouse, and experiencing a romantic and exciting getaway.
Honeymooners have endless options. Following months of wedding planning, couples often retreat to a luxurious resort that caters to their every need, while others trek to an adventurous escape from their day-to-day lives. Whether a beach vacation, a safari, or a ski trip, your honeymoon should reflect your joint personalities and wishes.
Keep in mind that perfect honeymoons don't just happen, and planning requires thoughtfulness, patience, careful attention to details, and a lot of decision-making along the way. The more homework you do before leaving for your honeymoon, the more you will enjoy your special vacation.
Explore your dreams...

PLANNING A WEDDING TWO YEARS AWAY?
Long engagements are becoming more popular and are not unusual. Many couples like to finish college or have time to save for the big day. Your wedding day will arrive quicker than you think. It is smart to start your planning early.
Forget about mailing save-the-date cards now unless you are planning a destination wedding. Inform guests and friends to expect an invitation in a year.
Before you start your planning 2 years in advance, the first step to accomplish is determining your budget. Will your parents contribute?
Secondly, research the costs of photographers, florists, DJメs, and reception sites.
Third, save, save, save! Two years in advance should nearly pay for your dream wedding. It is smart to place your wedding savings into a money-market account until you absolutely have to take it out to pay for vendors ヨ let your wedding savings earn more money for you!
Fourth, the more time you have to plan - the greater chance you have at reserving your ultimate selection. Choose your site now!
We would love to talk with you. We are great wedding planners here at Lumina! Also, book your photographyr early ヨ that way you can get the 2007 price!
Please call us at: (425) 355-1415 and tell us about your wedding daydreams and how we can help you fulfill them. You could also email me at colleen@luminaphotography.com.

Ten Great money saving wedding tips!
1.Everyone gets married on a Saturday.Compare prices on off days
like Friday or Sunday.Vendors offer reduced rates on off days.
2.Don't do a sit down dinner do a buffet.(more than 100 guests)
Sit down dinners take to long (if the hotel is under staffed)
AND CUT INTO YOUR PARTY TIME.
3.Don't serve free drinks during the dinner hour.
(they will have water ,drink from cocktail hour, ice tea)
4.Don't ever trust a hair dresser to be on time.
If the hairdresser runs late everything will run late)
5.Don't ever pay for dinners for your wedding vendors
5% to 10% of your guests will be no shows.
(let the vendors eat the leftovers)
6.If you don't serve liquir consider a hotel for the reception.
(Hotels charge $4 to $6 per drink.)
7.If you want a full open BAR with more than 150 guests.
GO WITH A HALL AND A CATERER all the liquir is at cost.
8.Rent chaircovers they really do make the room
9.Shoot video of the grandparents.
(I never met my Grandfather there was no video )
10.If something goes wrong on the wedding day? Let it go
( If you hired full time Pro's they will fix it)

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR BRIDESMAIDS
There are a few simple requirements and things to consider when choosing your bridesmaids.
First thing is first, take care and reserve all of your venues.
ᄋ Donメt worry about an uneven number in your wedding party ヨ if you have 6 groomsmen and 8 bridesmaids, thatメs okay (Remember itメs you wedding)
ᄋ Consider your friendメs personality. Ask yourself if they will participate in all functions.
ᄋ Can they afford the expense of purchasing a dress?
ᄋ If you have been in a friendメs wedding, doesnメt mean she has to me in yours.
ᄋ Is she expecting a baby or just had one ヨ consider her ability to participate.
Most importantly, take your time, and consider your bridesmaids with thought.

We are moving studio and making Loft Living
Well we have wanted to do this for the last few years so now is the time.
We are in the process of buying a 3 story old historic brick building in downtown Van Wert Ohio.
With three floors and 3,000 sq feet on each floor we now have plenty of room to create our vision.
The frist floor will be gutted out to the bare brick walls and down to the old oak flooring. Take out the drop ceiling to show the old tin ceiling.
Our studio/gallery will be on the first floor with the mezanine overlooking the gallery.
From the mezanine you go up the oak stairs to the 2nd floor where we will have office space and living space. Oak floors and brick walls with atrium up to the 3rd floor. Bay windows overlooking the downtown area where our living space will be located, all in an open loft living space.
Up the open staircase up to the 3rd floor where we will have 2 large bedrooms, walk in closets and huge bath/laundry room. This floor also get stripped down to the oak floors and brick walls. All open floor plan for loft living with bay window looking out over the city.
In the future we hope to take out the bay window on 3nd floor and create a recesed balcony that would overlook the city.
Taking the front of the building back to its old historic look with pillars and glass front with canvas awning. The openness of the front will allow you to look into the front of the gallery where we will have our canvas prints from weddings and seniors, but also room for local artist to display their art. Pottery, Paintings, and other art work will docorate the gallery with renderings of what the old downtown area used to look like and the new artist drawings for what the new renovation for downtown Van Wert will look like in the furture.
We hope to be part of this process and create a new trend for small town rural america, and that is loft living downtown. We will keep everyone updated with pictures of the project as we go thru the renovation and making all the changes to our project.
So stay tuned, it should be an exciting time for everyone.
And if you love taking down old lath, removing old horse hair plaster please let us know. We are looking for workers who are into historic preservation and just pain having fun.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR DRESS FITS
As youメre out shopping for your dream dress make sure to keep these 6 tips in mind.
So grab your gown profiles and these tips and head into the dressing room!
Your dress will fit if you can...
1. Sit down and cross your legs on a chair or couch
2. Walk easy and comfortably around the store
3. Bend and turn easy
4. Raise your arms above your head
5. Dance in the store
6. Breathe
It always helps to take those pages you ripped out of the magazines to your salesperson at the bridal shop. This will help give her an idea of what it is your looking for in a wedding dress. Also, make sure to take someone with that will give you honest feedback.

What Makes Us Different?
Imagine looking over at the dj table and having the connection as if you've hired your best friend to entertain at your wedding. Think that's impossible? The biggest compliment that we get at AMT Entertainment is our brides and grooms begging us to stay in touch, saying they feel as if they've known us forever and that we've made their day so special.
How does AMT Entertainment do it? We treat people differently. It's not just about the amount of time we spend with each couple planning their customized reception, or about how we actually perform at the wedding itself. It's about being there when we're needed. It's about answering the phone and talking with our clients as if they were our friends, not our customers. It's about taking an interest in helping, when a bride needs a referral for a cake, or photographer, or another vendor they haven't found yet. It's about working with our clients to make their dream wedding come true.
THAT is what makes AMT Entertainment different from the rest. You don't get a company who's hired a staff of dj's and just trained performers. You get a husband and wife who truly love helping couples and being a part of the blessed union of marriage. You get a man whose personality lights up the room when he smiles; who loves his technology and his music, and uses that love to entertain your guests; and who knows how you to make you laugh when you want to cry. You get a woman who not only is a trained entertainer as an actor and vocalist, but has committed her full time to the business of making your wedding entertainment the best it can be.
Although when it comes to equipment and performance, we still stand out from the crowd, we feel our greater advantage is us. Ben & Ann Marie.

Escorted tours and group tour of Europe
As the summer vacation season approaches, I thought Iメd talk about escorted tours to Europe with companies such as Globus and Trafalgar. For 1st time European travelers, a group tour can be a great option combining accommodations, transportation, sightseeing, meals and many extras in one economical vacation package.
When you arrive in Europe youメll be met by your tour director and he or she will become your buddy for the duration of your trip. Your guide will check you in and out of hotels, set up dinners, help you with different languages and customs, tell you of fabulous places for shopping and suggest optional sightseeing.
Perhaps even more important, your tour guide is a travel expert and will teach and entertain you with stories about the people and land you are exploring. Theyメre like history, geography and social/cultural professors all wrapped into one!
So if youメre thinking of international travel but arenメt quite sure you want to go on your own, there are lots of wonderful package tours to choose from. You can focus on one country such as France or Italy or choose a tour that includes a number of countries. Either way you'll relax and enjoy the sights knowing that an experienced guide is there to make your vacation the best ever!
I am a Europe Specialist and have been to Italy, France, Spain, England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe on recent trips. Please call or email and Iメll help you choose the right escorted tour or plan the perfect independent itinerary.

Important information about Passports
As of January 2007 passports are mandatory for all international travel including Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean. Previously, proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate, was accepted for some destinations but that has changed!
As you might imagine, that means a LOT of passport applications and a HUGE BACKLOG. In fact most applications, including renewals, are taking 10 to 16 weeks. So if you are planning a vacation outside the U.S. please apply early. The link below provides all the rules and regulations to acquire a passport.
http://travel.state.gov/passport/about/agencies/agencies_901.html
This link will help you find the nearest Passport Acceptance Office
http://travel.state.gov/passport/about/agencies/agencies_913.html
If you have applied but not yet received your passport, and are traveling outside the country within 2 weeks, you can expedite your passport. The first step is to obtain a tracking number at
https://passportstatus.state.gov/opss/OPSS_Status_i.asp
You may call the passport office to make an appointment or, if unable to get through, go to the Federal Building in downtown Seattle with your モtracking numberヤ. Once there an agent will have you complete an expedite form and pay an additional fee (approximately $60) to ensure your passport is processed in time.
Please note that all children, including infants, must have their own passport. In addition to the childメs birth certificate, passport application and photos, there are a few other requirements which apply for children under 14. The link below will take you directly to the page addressing these requirements
http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/minors/minors_834.html
Donメt wait! Apply today!

CONSIDERING A PRENUP?
You no longer have to be a celebrity to have a prenup. They no longer are for the rich. Prenup agreements mainstreamed because people have prospects. The statistics on divorce rates indicates a モGood reasonヤ to consider a mutual agreement early before marriage. The controversy of signing a prenuptial agreement is and should be a topic you talk about before you marry ヨ not after.
Couples do not like to discuss this topic because itメs unromantic, not optimistic, and most feel hurt. Common thoughts of such, and the feeling of a doomed marriage is also a touchy subject. Most think itメs anticipating a marriage when it should be on the promise of a marriage.
If something goes wrong in a marriage, than the early smart planning means one less headache to fight about. Prenups are meant to protect family, children, and assets. The experience of negotiating can be awful while planning an ending of a marriage that hasnメt even started. It also can be a positive experience. You really get to know each other, while building a solid honest ground of your marriage. Being prepared will only benefit you.
We would love to talk with you. Please call us at: (425) 355-1415 and tell us about your wedding daydreams and how we can help you fulfill them. You could also email me at colleen@luminaphotography.com.

HONEYMOON WHERE THE RICH AND FAMOUS DO!
Most celebrities would agree that theyメre looking for seclusion and private places when they vacation. If youメre looking for the same thing for your honeymoon, the spectacular beauty of BORA BORA may be for you. Most of the hotels are on their own private island, miles away from prying eyes. There are even glass panels in the floor so you can watch the fish swimming underneath. Thereメs an untouched and pristine quality to the lagoons. And, French Polynesia is more accessible than ever. Air Tahiti Nui flies non-stop from LOS ANGELES and NEW YORK. And still the islands receive just 50,000 U.S. visitors a year ラ fewer visitors than Hawaii receives in a 10-day span.
FIJIメS TURTLE ISLAND RESORT attracted honeymooners Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, along with Britney Spears and Kevin Federline. After all, 100 staffers are employed at Turtle Island to indulge a maximum of 14 couples. Common duties include arranging a lobster and champagne picnic on a private beach, or organizing horseback rides to a secluded breakfast nook. A honeymoon couple from NEW JERSEY may be dining at the community dinner table on the beach with a princess from a foreign country. All are just guests at Turtle Island.
SAN YSIDRO RANCH in Montecito, California hosted the honeymoon of John and Jacqueline Kennedy. In more recent years this unique resort has reportedly attracted a honeymooning Julia Roberts and Danny Moder as well as Sandra Bullock and Jesse James.
Couples stay in uniquely decorated cottage houses with artwork and antiques, as well as fireplaces made of hand-cut stone or masonry. Canopied beds with fine Pratesi linens, outdoor rain showers and floor-to-ceiling French doors have inspired a lot of buzz throughout Hollywood. This resort has everything: beauty, romance, privacy and incredible service.
Resorts like LA SAMANNA, the majestic Orient-Express beachfront resort in ST. MAARTIN, are one of the spots where Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette spent time. These resorts offer not only privacy but also plenty of activities. Everything from a spa, fitness center, pilates studio, three tennis courts, water spots galore to multiple options for dining. All this in just 80 rooms.
The ST. REGIS RESORT BORA BORA has deluxe accommodations that are self-contained resorts within the resort, providing the ultimate in privacy. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban stayed at the St. Regis Bora Boraメs 13,000-square-foot secluded Royal Estate. It offers three bedrooms, two living rooms, a chef's kitchen, dining room, private swimming pool, office, and a spa area with a sauna and whirlpool.
Honeymooners Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston reportedly rented out an entire hotel for their honeymoon when they stayed at FREGATE ISLAND in the SEYCHELLES.
From BORA BORA to the BAHAMAS, the best resorts and locales for celebrities honeymooning or getting married can also be had for your own honeymoon or wedding. You are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and you donメt have to earn a celebrity salary to find it.

I "redo."
I speak from experience, sometimes it takes two weddings to get it right. My first wedding was one thing after another that went wrong, and needless to say the second time around was just so much better. The first wrong thing that happened was the cake fell, three layers, on the floor. It took nearly ten years to have another wedding, but it was still special.
So whether you are on marriage 2.0, or you are renewing your vows, this is still your special day, and should be treated as if it was the first time around.

Nobodyメs Perfect!
Through the months of planning your wedding, and 10 years into your marriage, remember to boost each otherメs self esteem when needed the most. We all like to feel special and tend to forget to place each other up on that pedestal.
The more the two of you compliment, and build each otherメs self-esteem, the healthier your relationship and marriage will be. Having a positive perception of your husband or wife can overlook their small mistakes. You will find that minor issues will fray from becoming major issues. Maintaining and nurturing the positive aspects to each other will also contribute to low stress and dealing with life in general.
We would love to talk with you. Please call us at: (425) 355-1415 and tell us about your wedding daydreams and how we can help you fulfill them. You could also email me at colleen@luminaphotography.com.

SURPRISE!
Do you want to trim your catering budget?
Here are 5 surprises you may encounter with your caterer.
Surprise # 1
Taxes and gratuity add up ヨ read carefully the terms in your contract. The finest print may say モplus plusヤ which means tax plus 20 percent gratuity is included.
Surpise # 2
Suppling and bringing in your own liquor and wine isnメt really a saver. Caterers charge corkage fees (can be a few dollars a bottle) to serve the alcohol you provided.
Surprise #3
If an モoutsideヤ cake is brought in - your caterer may have a cake cutting fee.
Surprise # 4
The larger the party, the more leverage you have in getting a per-person discount.
Surprise # 5
A cocktail party served with hors dメoeuvres will be more expensive than a seated dinner. Caterers have to overestimate hors dメoeuvres in order to have plenty available since they are less filling.
Do your numbers before you select and decide on a style of service! Make sure to ask for hidden fees. Avoid any surprises that you can ヨ ask questions.
We would love to talk with you. Please call us at: (425) 355-1415 and tell us about your wedding day dreams and how we can help you fulfill them. You could also email me at colleen@luminaphotography.com.

What Does RSVP Mean to People?
Here is an interesting article from the Washington Post on the state of the RSVP in our country today... We thought it was very telling.
What Does RSVP mean? To many, nothing.
By ANNIE GROER
The Washington Post
Nearly a month before Brennan Dorn graduated from Georgetown University last year, her parents invited 50 relatives and friends to an elaborate buffet dinner on the big day. Then they got down to the serious business of planning a feast that both would cook: spicy skewered shrimp, piquant eggplant dip with toasted pita chips, phyllo triangles, vegetable-stuffed flank steak, Tuscan chicken stew with saffron rice. A caterer would provide additional treats and a rich dessert; dishes, flatware and serving pieces would be rented and a fully stocked bar set up.
Only one question loomed large for hosts David Dorn and Diane Daly: How many people would actually be coming to the fete in Dorn's Adams Morgan apartment?
"With just a week to go, I still hadn't heard from 60 percent of my guests - in town, out of town, kids and adults," says Daly, director of fashion and communication for Hecht's. "The RSVP on the invitation was clear. It was a dinner, so I really needed to know how much food to get, how much wine, how many plates. I got on the phone or e-mailed those people and asked them if they were coming."
Despite her best efforts, Daly didn't reach them all. "Some showed up without responding. I opened the door, they'd be standing there, and of course I said I was thrilled to see them." Understandably, she was smiling through clenched teeth.
Anyone who has ever organized a social event - whether dinner at home, a potluck picnic or a large formal wedding - knows all about the value of RSVP, the French acronym for repondez, s'il vous plait, or, in plain English, please reply.
With school back in session and the holidays fast approaching, the problem of non-responders will only escalate, say the experts.
"We live in a much more informal world today, and that leads to less attention being paid to the proscribed way of doing things,"laments Peter Post, fourth-generation etiquette guru whose great-grandmother Emily wrote the first of several guides to proper behavior in 1922. "Another thing, frankly, is the whole new world of technology, which means everything moves much faster, and people will say, 'Well, maybe we'll do it if we have time.'"
In another sign of slipping standards, during the past few decades, many youngsters were not taught how to reply to invitations, and grew into clueless adults.
"The old family structure devolved and changed from the classic 1950s - Dad at work and Mom at home being constantly on top of things the children were doing - to a lot of single parents or children of working parents being taken care of by grandparents, just whole new types of people raising kids," says Post, author of Essential Manners for Men and a director of the Emily Post Institute in Burlington, Vt. (http://www.emilypost.com).
Party planner Linda Garner, who runs Gala Events in Bethesda, Md., puts it more baldly: "People are rude," she declares. "We are getting more and more lazy. You know that the correct way is for people to write a note saying they will or will not attend. It's very difficult because people don't know proper etiquette, so they will either call you on the telephone or they will do nothing. It's ridiculous. Even with an RSVP card, a stamped self-addressed envelope and 'RSVP by a certain date,' they don't."
Honore McDonough Ervin, co-author of Things You Need to Be Told: A Handbook for Polite Behavior in a Tacky, Rude World, considers an RSVP more than a simple nicety.
"It is a direct order," she says, invoking a phrase from her girlhood as a Navy brat.
"I should hope that even the most dense of people will respond 'by such and such a date,' or 'regrets only.' It's a terrible, terrible thing to do to your host. They don't know how many people to expect. What if you're having a dinner party for 12 and only six people show up? You have done so much work and now have too much food. Or on the other hand, people come and they bring a posse of 20 people: There you are stuck with all these extra people and not enough food or space," says Ervin, half of a Massachusetts writing duo known as the Etiquette Grrls, who also answer deportment questions on their Web site, http://www.etiquettegrrls.com.
Despite rampant bad behavior, many good hosts - including Lesley Carlin, the other Etiquette Grrl -try to be gentle when forced to conduct a pre-event census. "It is kind of awkward but there is a way to let the other person off easily by saying, 'Hey, I don't know if the invitation got lost in the mail.' It's a lot nicer than saying, 'You graceless clod.'"

Engagement portrait sessions- why they are mutually beneficial
What exactly is an engagement portrait session?
Getting engaged can be a very exciting time in your life. A time that should be remembered forever! The excitement of what romance brought you together, telling your friends and family the special news, and of course planning a day to celebrate your new lives together.
A professional portrait session of you and your fianc← can be used a number of different artistic ways. You can send out the photo as save the dates or announcements or use it for your scrap book later. Many couples blow up their favorite shot and have it on a table at their wedding next to a book where friends and family can write their wishes. Either way, it is a great opportunity to catalog the excitement of the next step in your relationship.
Typically taking only 2 hours, the photo session is mutually beneficial to you and your photographer. It allows you to get to know each other in a relaxed environment one on one. Without the distractions of your guest and family, you can feel comfortable posing and asking questions while you get used to the shooting style of your photographer. I often recommend shooting it a place that feels most comfortable to you and your partner wither that be the beach, your home, a favorite park or restaurant- regardless it is a great way to be creative and get to know each other.
There are a lot of different packages for photography and I realize this can be overwhelming when it comes to planning. That is why I simply provide you a copy of all digital files on DVD. You can then start printing and emailing your custom photos immediately after the session!
Thanks,

Turquoise Waters in the Turks and Caicos Offer Romance and Privacy
Shores fringed with miles of pristine, turquoise waters. Soft, white sand beaches that stretch for miles. And turquoise clouds. How can that be? The breathtaking aqua water color is reflected ...mirrored...on the bottoms of the clouds. Yet another affirmation as to why the Turks & Caicos Islands are one of my favorite beach destinations.
Nestled between Miami and Puerto Rico, the Turks and Caicos Islands have often been called "the forgotten islands". But not easily forgotten are the miles of uncrowded white sand beaches, abundant reefs, excellent diving wrecks and some of the oldest coral communities known to man. Over thirty islands make up the Turks & Caicos, with only about eight of them inhabited.
Providenciales is a British territory, known by many as just "Provo" and has become one of the premier diving spots in the world. Hotel accommodations in Provo are secondary to the incredible scenery, water and beaches. After years of being somewhat unknown, Provo has grown and offers a wide variety of places to stay. Couples will relish Club Med, The Palms, and the two Ocean Clubs nestled on a picturesque, crescent beach of Grace Bay. Most of the hotels share Provo's signature stamp of powder white beaches that stretch for miles against striking aquamarine-colored waters.
Provo is a destination wonderful for all ages, due to its mild climate, safe and friendly accommodations, and calm, beautiful waters. But the adventures and sights beyond the hotel made will make you want to come back for more.
After settling into your hotel, head to Scooter Bob's Jeep rental located at the Turtle Cove Inn. Trekking to remote beaches on rough-terrain roads is a bit adventurous but will offer you the most magnificent sites of Provo. Some snorkel gear and local directions to the most scenic and remote spots on the island and youメre on your way to two of my favorite places in the world:
Chalk Sound
A glimpse of Chalk Sound on your flight to Provo looks like a turquoise mass of water dotted with tiny islands. The three-mile bay looks mystically tranquil...not a ripple and not a wave. This shallow blanket of azure water is at the most 20 feet deep, and studded with perhaps a hundred tiny islets, some the size of a house and some only the size of a beach towel. The bottom of the Sound is completely visible through the clear water and is an unblemished white. The vast lagoon is surrounded by majestic cliffside villas that overlook the calm water.
Not the easiest place to find but this is a definite must-see if you are staying in Provo. There are no waves in the calm water and the white coralline sand feels like velvet under your feet. Even wading out about 100 yards the water still only laps at your waist. Homes with moored sailboats surround the protected cove and a romantic walk to the east will take you to Sapodilla Hill where old carvings of sailors' names still exist from the days they were shipwrecked.
Northwest Point
What many call Malcolm's Road Beach, this route takes you high on hills overlooking the ocean. Although partly paved, the rocky road dips and turns more than it should. Large broken boulders block your way as you drive between scrub brush and cacti to get around the rocky obstacles. But when the ocean comes into view and the turquoise clouds map out the line of the beach, you have arrived. The breathtaking seascape is below and it is a worthwhile reward. Down a small hill of rolling sand dunes lies a stunning beach with crystal clear water that is remarkable for snorkeling and is abundant with white rock coral and small, colorful fish. The beach and view are wondrous, and you can feel like you are on the edge of the world.
These islands aren't as much of a secret anymore. More hotels are building - but despite the new hotels and increasing popularity, the magnetic blue waters and uncrowded beaches still remain. The captivating privacy and romance of these beaches are perfect for honeymooners. And youメll want to come back to gaze again at the turquoise clouds, and the incredible waters that give them their hue. I don't believe there is anywhere like it in the world.
Explore your dreams...

FIRST STEPナplanning your budget!
The most important process of planning your wedding is establishing a budget. Take time to plan your wedding budget, and then prioritize which elements of your wedding are most important to you. For instance, you may want to spend more on your photographer than your flowers.
Secondly, how are you funding your wedding? Combine your financial resources to determine your budget. It is a high possibility that you budget may change as you research venues.
Budget for:
* Reception ヨ including rentals, catering, car, cake, facility, tax
* Ceremony ヨ Facility rental, marriage license, officiant, decorations, rentals
* Photographer ヨ Wedding package, prints, albums, engagement portraits
* Videographer ヨ Video package fee, DVD copies
* Flowers ヨ Brideメs bouquet, site flowers ceremony/reception, boutonnieres/corsages
* Entertainment ヨ Ceremony and reception
* Stationery ヨ Invitations, wedding programs, announcements, postage, thank you cards
* Health & Beauty ヨ Hair, makeup, spa
* Brideメs apparel ヨ Dress, veil, shoes, lingerie/hosiery, jewelry, alterations
* Groomメs apparel ヨ Tux, shoes, cufflinks
* Transportation ヨ Limousine service, guest transportation

Weddings in Ireland and Scotland
What could be more memorable or more romantic than a wedding at a castle? A castle wedding has been the choice of many celebrities - Pierce Bronsnan at Ashford Castle in Ireland and Madonna at Skibo Castle in Scotland are only two recent examples.
Bonaventure Tours can provide complete destination wedding services in Scotland and Ireland. Bonaventure Tours will assist you through the legalities, clergy contacts, venue selection, and myriad of details from flowers to music to pipers, and Celtic wedding traditions.
We have Irish and Scots wedding co-ordinators in place who will communicate directly with you through the planning process to fulfil your dream wedding. Your complete arrangements will also include travel arrangements for yourselves and your guests through the wedding period as well as your honeymoon and any touring your guests might want to do before or after the wedding.
After arriving at your chosen destination our co-ordinator will assist with the completion of your legal documents, review your arrangements and provide whatever services have been agreed upon. On the wedding day she will be present to insure that all goes as planned.
There are no fixed wedding packages as you might find on a cruise ship or at a tropical resort. Every destination wedding by Bonaventure Tours is completely tailored to your requirements and your budget. Our co-ordinators will listen, suggest and provide options and opinions - allowing you to make informed decisions. Our co-ordinators maintain their independence by charging a fee for their services rather than earning commissions from wedding suppliers.
From tiny 12th century St Margaret's Chapel at Edinburgh Castle to the exclusive use of a complete castle visited by Mary Queen of Scots, Scotland has options galore. Ancient abbeys, historic sites and stately homes are further possibilities.
It is more complicated to be legally married in Ireland. Many couples opt to cut through the red tape and residency requirements with a legal ceremony at home and a religious blessing ceremony in Ireland. Your options in Ireland may be limited by the requirements of your religious denomination.

In both countries civil ceremonies must be performed in premises licensed for this purpose.
From an intimate wedding for two to a gathering for the entire clan, our specialized knowledge of Ireland and Scotland and our local partners will bring your dreams to life.
Call us toll free at 1-800-876-5084, email to info@castlehoneymoons.com or go to our website at www.castlehoneymoons.com to see several different honeymoon packages in either Ireland or Scotland.

The Next Level
Hello ladies, and the few gentlemen who are taking the time to help with the wedding planning.
Some exciting changes have just taken place in AMT Entertainment. First of all, we have stepped up our lighting package to the next level. Soon, you'll be able to see pictures on our website of the new package. The exciting part of this is that we know it will make our receptions even more fun and hip than before. It's a move we've been wanting to make and now have found it possible.
I'm sure you're wondering why lighting is so important at your wedding reception. Here are some good points to think about...
1. Dance Club lighting sets the mood for a party.
2. Your guests will feel more at ease to dance and really let loose when the lights are pumping.
3. The lighting, along with the music, will make the night a memory your guests will continue talking about long after the party is over.
So, when you book your dj, remember to inquire about lighting. Usually, upgraded lighting will be extra. Be sure to ask exactly what that "upgrade" includes. You don't want to be cheated out of your money!
Talk with you soon!

AFTER THE HONEYMOON ヨ is it over?
After your wedding and honeymoon you may experience the honeymoon hangover. The honeymoon hangover can be avoided, and the flame can still burn once you learn how to keep the fire going. The saying モHoneymoon is overヤ does not mean your doomed for unhappiness, the excitement and spark can still exist between the two of you!
Tips to avoid the honeymoon hangover
* Call him/her at work just to say hello, ask モAre you are free tonight?ヤ
* During winter months, warm her/his car up
* Surprise her with flowers
* Mail a card to her/him
* Plan another romantic getaway shortly after your honeymoon. It can be 2 years out, this will keep the both of you looking forward to doing something together again.
* Write notes and place them in his/hers lunch box, car, bathroom mirror, closet, refrigerator, or even write notes about your honeymoon.
You can take action now on these tips! Again, when your honeymoon is over, it doesnメt mean the two of you will be.
We would love to talk with you. Please call us at: (425) 355-1415 and tell us about your wedding daydreams and how we can help you fulfill them. You could also email me at colleen@luminaphotography.com.

Shipping Your Luggage Ahead of Your Honeymoon or Wedding
Hereメs a tidbit of news from Today Show travel editor Peter Greenberg ラ 3.5 million bags were mishandled January to November by U.S. airlines in 2006. No matter the reason, it happens. Luckily, Iメve never had a bag get lost. Late? Yes. Very late? Yes. Lost? No. These days, the sheer volume of bags means more are ending up where they are not supposed to be. More people are checking bags instead of carrying them on in order to get their lotions, toothpaste and other liquids on the plane. Heightened security at airports has also made the process of checking bags and clearing customs longer and harder.
Utilizing hands-free traveling services to ship your bags ahead of time means your luggage doesnメt get lost on the way to your honeymoon. It also means it frees up your hands at the airport to hang onto the important stuff - like your travel documents and camera, plus that early-morning latte. And a lot of travelers - honeymooners especially - would rather pay a fee to a private company than carry heavy bags. If you are a couple planning a destination wedding, it's a good idea to send your wedding dress and tuxedo ahead. You'll enjoy the peace of mind in knowing your wedding clothes are safely at your destination - waiting on your arrival.
Currently, several airlines charge fees, usually $50 to $80, if your checked luggage is overweight. Can standard luggage fees by the airlines for checked bags be far behind? And letメs not forget the most enticing reason of all: you can skip the wait at the luggage carousel! That perk alone is enough for me!
If you do decide to bring your luggage on the airplane with you, here are a few tips that may help:
- Put your name inside your suitcase. Tags on the outside can be torn off during loading and unloading.
- Take a picture of your bags with your cell phone. That way, if they do get lost, youメll have a picture with you to show the lost luggage representative.
- I always tie a bright red ribbon on my suitcase so that it stands out. Lately, Iメve been noticing a lot of people have the same idea. So Iメve graduated to pom-poms and multi-colored straps to grab my attention.
- Use brightly colored luggage tags. I have these available in many colors and hand them out to my clients with their documents.
- Get the phone number for the baggage claim office at the airport. Otherwise, youメll spend time on the airlineメs phone roundabout, pushing buttons and waiting on hold.
If you do decide to ship your luggage ahead to your resort or cruise line, your travel specialist will be able to arrange this for you. I have several companies I work with and each have their own destination, and type of luggage, specialties. Prices usually depend on travel distance, luggage size and the level of service requested. On the average, expect to pay about $45 each way for a roll-on or carry-on bag, and about $90 each way for a full-sized suitcase. Hands-free traveling is also a great option for those honeymooners who are sports enthusiasts (think golf clubs, fishing equipment, skis and snowboards).
Explore your dreams...

European Honeymoon Cruises Are An Incredible Value
With the fluctuating exchange rate of the Euro, couples looking to get the most for their money while honeymooning in Europe will appreciate the value of cruising. With only minimal shoreside expenses such as souvenirs, honeymooners will find that planning a cruise is a proven money-saver as well as being a stress-reducer.
Comparisons of a land tour versus a cruise vacation will show that a savings of up to 30 percent can be had by booking a 7-day Mediterranean cruise over a 7-day deluxe escorted land vacation. Typical expenses such as accommodations, transportation between cities in Europe, food, entertainment and tours should be looked at. Estimated costs for a honeymoon couple total $5,200 for a 7-day cruise vacation in a balcony stateroom and $7,400 for a deluxe escorted Europe land vacation.
More and more honeymooners are realizing that cruising, especially in Europe, is an incredible value. Waking up in a new port each day without having to pack and unpack - as well as avoiding the transportation hassles - is proving to be a big draw for couples who want to have the European honeymoon they thought was out of reach. Cruising means you'll be pampered with fabulous cuisine, amenities and entertainment while being able to better plan your expenses while honeymooning. Shore excursions can be reserved in advance - although there are plenty of ports where romantic strolls through town or on the beach can be had for no additional expense.
To meet the increasing demand for European holidays, diverse cruise itineraries and great savings on premium cruise vacation experiences are available for the 2007 Europe season. Experience a European cruise in the fall, and you'll get not only wonderful weather, but incredible savings as well! Itineraries include such fabulous ports of call as the Baltic, Scandinavia, Norwegian fjords, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, France, Croatia, Greece, the Meditteranean and the Black Sea.
From picking a ship, to selecting the itinerary that you'll love, to choosing the stateroom that is appropriate for your budget as well as your destination - there are many variables when choosing a cruise. Your honeymoon travel specialist should be knowledgeable about cruising and be able to confidently present choices for your honeymoon based on your wishes.
Cruising is a great way to experience the many countries of Europe. It's also a wonderful way to help you plan return anniversary trips to your favorite ports.
Explore your dreams...

2007 Wedding Trends
2007 Wedding Invitation Trends
While the most formal invitations continue to be traditional engraved white or ecru cards, the trend for 2007 calls for glamour and a bold color pallet of jewel tone colors.
This year, brides and grooms are expressing themselves with a creative mix of colors and unexpected accents. The use of color has been an emerging wedding trend for years, but now more than ever, wedding invitations in hues of purple, red, gold and orange are being used to define today's wedding styles. Couples are personalizing their wedding stationery with unique accents such as miniature Swarovski crystals and custom monogram seals. This wedding season the focus is on the bride and groom's sense of style and individuality.
Unique use of paper is another trend gaining popularity this year. Invitation designers are adding color coordinated pockets and pouches to their designs to create an element of organization within their wedding invitation ensembles. This well thought out invitation option adds color and functionality to invitations by keeping the response set and enclosure cards neatly tucked away. Another example of unique use of paper can be seen in the current trend of bevel edging multiple layers of thick card stock to create an interesting multi dimensional invitation. Paper trends are expanding to include interesting custom envelopes and liners, and coordinating programs, escort cards, table cards and menus. 2007 is the year for taking wedding invitations to a new level, combining classic elegance with elements of glamour and vibrant color.
And on the printing front: Engraving, once reserved for formal 100% cotton watermarked white or ecru card stock is now being used to print sophisticated invitations on brightly colored papers.Letterpress printing continues to be a favorite choice of many brides and grooms, and while many choose classic letterpress designs, others are opting for a fresh contemporary letterpress style. The traditional and meticulous art of hand silk-screening in white or ivory ink has emerged as a preferred method for printing on dark and vibrant colored papers.
All in all, this year's invitation trends have added a surprising twist to classic invitation style. Traditional invitations will always be in style, but for those wishing for highly creative options to classic invitations, 2007 offers unlimited opportunities for expression through custom wedding stationery.

Hungry for a caterer who feeds well?
Home cooking, mass quantities, and no worries, that's us in a nut shell.
I come from a long line of cooks and professional chefs. It's just what my family does. The only thing that goes in our microwaves is left overs.
When I do an event, I do for your family, what I would do for mine. We make tasty dishes in huge quantities, so that everyone has some, if not seconds.
We have made a banana pudding dish that weighed 30 pounds! When we all get together, it's usually a potluck, but it our family the size of the pots are HUGE!
Food is meant to be the center of festivities, where people can enjoy all the sensations of each bite, as well as making those warm memories that will last a lifetime.
I remember the events where I've been a guest at, and which events I would have to eat before the event, and which I would gladly go to again.
If you want a variety of choices when it comes to your menu plan, which is all customized to your needs, or if you want to pick one of our standard options, we are very willing to work with your needs and requests.

* Flowers ヨ Brideメs bouquet, site flowers ceremony/reception, boutonnieres/corsages
* Entertainment ヨ Ceremony and reception
* Stationery ヨ Invitations, wedding programs, announcements, postage, thank you cards
* Health & Beauty ヨ Hair, makeup, spa
* Brideメs apparel ヨ Dress, veil, shoes, lingerie/hosiery, jewelry, alterations
* Groomメs apparel ヨ Tux, shoes, cufflinks
* Transportation ヨ Limousine service, guest transportation
We would love to talk with you. Please call us at: (425) 355-1415 and tell us about your wedding day dreams and how we can help you fulfill them. You could also email me at colleen@luminaphotography.com.

HAVE FUN!!
What a special day. Even though I photograph one or two weddings every week, each one is special and unique in its own way, just like each bridal couple.
One thing I always tell each couple is "Have fun!" Don't let the details rob you of what should be one of the most special days of your life. By the time the wedding day rolls around you will have done everything you can do to make it go smoothly. Now, it's time to enjoy the fruits of your planning.
Even the best of planning doesn't always mean that everything will go exactly as planned. Even if it doesn't, by the end of the day you will still be married and isn't that what the day is all about? Who knows if the little ring bearer will make it to the front of the church or if the flower girl will sprinkle all the rose petals? At this point, it doesn't matter. No matter what they do they will just add to the memories you will have later.
You have chosen the vendors you liked the best and who you feel will do the job the way you want it done. Now is the time to let them "do their thing". They are professionals and know what they are doing. Many of them work behind the scenes getting everything just right the way you told them you wanted it. Others, like the DJ and the photographer, are more visible and interact more with you and your guests. That's why you want someone who you are confortable with and whose style you like.
It's your special day. The ceremony is a dignified ceremony and should be treated as such. The reception is a party! Have fun!!

A good photographer will be on the watch for things that make the couple uncomfortable. Not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera and I want to make you forget that I or the camera am even there. This is a session where you are interacting with each other as if you were the only people in the world. Nice poses together, candids of you just being yourselves, off the hip shots that just happen. This is a good engagement session and one you will remember for the rest of your lives!

Wedding Photo Tips
With over forty years (gulp) experience in photography, I've accumulated some tips for brides and grooms when hiring their wedding photographerラwho will be responsible for capturing their wedding for the rest of their lives (hopefully), or at least their marriage. Here are some questions to ask any photographer you are seriously considering. You'll find more tips on my website, under "guide." The questions with asterisks are the ones only the most savvy brides ask...
How many years of experience do you have as a photographer?
What percentage of your business is dedicated to weddings?
Are you the person who will photograph my wedding?
Will you bring an assistant with you to my wedding?
How do you typically dress for weddings?
Do you have a professional studio?
What type of equipment do you use?
*Do you bring backup equipment with you to weddings?
*Do you have liability insurance?
Are you skilled in diffused lighting & soft focus?
Can you take studio portraits?
*Can hi-res images can be purchased? If so, what is the cost?
What is the cost of the package I am interested in?
What is your payment policy?
*What is your cancellation policy?
*Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
Do you use proofs?
How many proofs will I get?
When will I get my proofs?
When will I get my album?
What is the cost of an engagement portrait? Formal bridal portrait?
What is the cost of a parent album?
What is the cost of a 5" x 7" reprint?
What is the cost of an 8" x 10" reprint?
What is the cost of an 11" x 14" reprint?
*Are there any overtime charges, or will we have hired you for the entire day?

Cutting Corners On Photography ヨ bad mistake!
Your wedding photographer is the second most important selection you will make for your wedding day!
The BIGGEST mistake is hiring Uncle Frank to capture your wedding photos. Sure he is low cost, and would love to do them, but the truth is ヨ you will not be happy with them. Always hire a professional licensed photographer. You will save yourself a lot of stress and free of disappointment.
Frankly, all of us (wedding photographers) can show you beautiful prints on the wall and beautiful wedding albums. It may have taken some photographers five years to collect a dozen beautiful prints, but ALL of us can show them to you.
What you are paying for more than anything is the CONFIDENCE that you will get a beautiful set of photos ヨ photos of the people, details, events and emotions that make up YOUR wedding day.
How Do you get this?
When you are sitting down with the photographer, ask them to show you COMPLETE sets of the photos from the last two weddings that they have covered. This will show you if the photographer will capture all the important elements at EVERY wedding they shoot.
We would love to talk with you. Please call us at: (425) 355-1415 and tell us about your wedding daydreams and how we can help you fulfill them. You could also email me at colleen@luminaphotography.com.

Ways to Win The Guest-ing Game
The Guest Register RSVP Service assures brides of an accurate guest count.

Not having an accurate guest count can throw any bride or party planner into a tailspin. Not to mention, cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars in uneaten meals. To take the guesswork out of guest counts, Mary Grant of The Guest Register, a R.S.V.P. service that personally contacts all non-responders, suggests the following:
1. Provide a variety of response options. While the traditional response card remains the most common, allow guests to also call, email and/or use the web. By providing more than one option, guests can choose which format they are most comfortable with and, ideally, respond in a timely manner.
2. Double-check catering contracts. Many caterers automatically supply a few extra meals knowing guest counts are inaccurate. Factoring in the モextraヤ the caterer will provide keeps your final number (and budget) in line. Thereメs no need to pad it.
3. Count to 10. Add ten days to the catererメs deadline for a final count and use that as an R.S.V.P. deadline for your guests. This allows for those last-minute mailings to reach you and gives you time to contact non-responders.
4. Script your response to non-responders. Before you pick up the phone to call guests who havenメt responded, lay some ground rules. What exceptions are you willing to allow? Extra guests? Children? With virtually every wedding there will be a handful of uninvited guests. Be consistent in your response to keep control.
5. Use an R.S.V.P. Service. For less than the cost of a handful of uneaten meals, an R.S.V.P. service will collect your responses for you and contact every non-responding guest directly to secure an accurate guest count. An R.S.V.P. Service such as The Guest Register saves time and potential embarrassment. Whether the guest is embarrassed for not responding, asks to bring along extras or potentially never received the invitation in the first place, an objective third-party can quickly and efficiently arrive at a final ヨ and accurate ヨ guest count.

BREAK IN THOSE WEDDING HEELS!
So youメve found the perfect heels for your wedding day. If you think you can go for hours on your big day in your brand new pair of stylish heels ヨguess again. Videographer's Statement & Frequently Asked Questions
Videopgrapher's Statement followed by Frequently Asked Questions
Dear Bride & Groom,
I have been producing wedding videos for couples and families for over 16 years in the Puget Sound. My style is natural and journalistic. I donメt set-up artificial situations, but rather, let events unfold in a spontaneous manner. I tailor my approach and style to your needs and preferences after consulting with you.
When choosing a video company you are choosing a specific videographer, who will arrive and perform a professional service on your wedding day. When you book your wedding with me ヨ thatメs exactly what you get. I donメt hire your wedding out to sub-contractors. I bring years of experience and a commitment to creating a great video at an affordable price. I bring a sense of humor and a keen eye for the special moments in your day. Your marriage is a celebration of your commitment together with your family and friends. I believe your videographer should be as unobtrusive as possible during your celebration while striving to capture it's unique spirit and all its important moments.
If you would like to ask more detailed questions, inquire about available dates, or schedule a consultation, please contact me. I keep my rates economical, so I do book up early. Thanks again and best wishes on your wedding day!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the difference between a single camera wedding and a two camera wedding?
Question:
In a two camera (or multiple camera) wedding, the videographer uses two cameras placed at different angles. The main camera is usually placed (depending on the church or facility) close to the bride and the groom. The second camera is ususally a wider shot of the bride, groom and possibly the entire bridal party. The edited video has alternating angles. For instance, the second camera often has a better shot of the recessional - the closer camera is used for tighter shots of the bride and groom. I always use two cameras, even if your package is a single camera one. That's because if someone walks in front of the camera, I'll have another shot to edit to.
Answer:
There is a wide range of prices between different videographers and even between your own packages. It's really confusing. Can you explain how videographers set their prices?
There are a series of factors that determine every videographers prices. These days digital cameras, digital editing are the norm.) Let's start with the actual wedding day and go on to the editing and finished wedding DVD.
The number of hours the videographer is present before the wedding and during the reception is reflected in the package price. For example, the least expensive option in my Packages & Prices is the Ceremony Only - usually 3 hours. The most expensive option is The Orchid - up to 8 hours.
After the wedding the finished footage can be combined in any number of options. A second camera can be added during editing to the ceremony. This camera can be stationary, or have an additonal videographer. When a second videographer is used (typically just for the ceremony), this is reflected in the total price. In my wedding packages, it is an add on to the normal package price found in the "al a carte" menu.
