Losing weight and feeling great

Eating to live

Instead of counting calories, make your calories count. The best way to lose and keep weight off isn’t rocket science, its common sense. Eat when you are hungry, drink water, and exercise. Sure there are pills that help burn fat and decrease appetite, but what you really want to do to make your body work the best it can is by fueling it with the right kind of energy and nutrition.

Step one: What are your allergies?
Many people get reactions from eating food that their bodies are telling them that they have a reaction to, or can not process. By finding out what foods are causing symptoms that you would rather not endure, see a specialist, this will be well worth building a healthy menu and lifestyle eating plan with your body in mind.

Step two: Eat in regular intervals.
A lot of people go without eating for far too long, which tells your body you need to binge to satisfy the hunger. If you eat in well balanced intervals, your blood sugar stays normal, and you feel better.

Step three: Eat smaller portions.
Your stomach is not as big as you may think, eating until you are not hungry, not eating until you are full. There is only so much room in your stomach to break down your meal, start by eating less. Think of it as stuffing your washing machine full and then adding soap and water, your clothes don’t come out as clean because it didn’t have the space to do its job correctly.

Step four: Plan out your meals.
Not everything that goes into you is going to be planned, but if the majority of meals that you eat as a single person or as a family can be planned out. This not only saves you money, but saves the worry of what the next meal is going to be.

Step five: Drink water.
Water is something your body not only needs, but something it craves. If your lips are dry you are already dehydrated. If you don’t drink enough water, you are not running your body to its full ability.

Step six: Love your body.
Staring in the mirror wishing to be someone else doesn’t do you any good. There are certain things that will never change, the places that fat tends to develop, your height, or your bone size, so accepting that this is the frame that you were born with, this body that is yours can either run at its peak, or just stare back at you wishing it looked like someone else.

Step seven: Exercise.
Just move, walk, swim, ride a bike, join a class, exercise the pets. Even moderate exercise helps you feel good. Find something you like and stick to it as a part of your lifestyle.

Step eight: get rid of toxins.
People, situation, substances are all stress factors that lead people into over eating and feeling of being out of control. Tell yourself you are worth more than the toxins in your life, that they don’t have control over you, that you control whether or not you accept it as part of your life. Take responsibility.

Wedding Reception Receiving Lines

Traditionally, receiving lines are an organized way for the bride and groom to greet guests. For a large wedding of 75 guests or more, a receiving line may be the best way to ensure all your guests are welcomed.

Your receiving line can have just the bride and groom and their parents. It can also include the best man and maid of honor. Either choice is perfectly acceptable.

Another choice for the receiving line is to have the line after the ceremony or upon arrival at the reception. Take into account the venues and how you want the day's schedule to flow when deciding.

The receiving line is a wonderful way to introduce and greet guests. Be sure to enjoy it.

We'll be happy to capture images from your line and your guests as they are greeted by your wedding party.

Wedding Gown Buying Made Simple

Your Wedding Gown: it's a once-in-a-lifetime dress. Make sure your gown lives up to your dreams by following these tips:

Bring a trusted friend with you to try on dresses. Often mothers and wedding attendants are included in wedding gown shopping.
Try dresses on with shoes that are the same size heel you'll be wearing on the wedding day. Also, try the dresses on with proper undergarments.
Try different styles of dresses to determine what is most flattering.
Take pictures of you in the dress from different angles to get a feel for how you will look in the photographs on the wedding day.
Check on alteration pricing.
Pay the deposit with a credit card in case of a breach of contract.
Enjoy.

Wedding gown shopping may be hard work but imagining your fiance's face as you walk down the aisle, may make the shopping a little easier.

We'll catch his look - and yours too! Emotion and color, in a display of wedding images.

Picking the Wedding Date

You may already have a time of year in mind for when you would like to get married, but it is also a good idea to consider a few things when picking your wedding date. Consult with family and close friends to see when their schedules are free. Also, check your calendar to ensure your wedding won't conflict with either yours or your fiance's religious holidays.

Although June, August and September are the most common wedding months, you may wish to hold your wedding in a different month. Consider the weather in your intended honeymoon location.

Also, when you are setting your wedding date, allow ample time to plan your wedding. It may take a few months to set up your vendors, get your invitations out, and finalize your wedding plans.

Your wedding date will always be meaningful to you as a couple.

Whichever date you choose, we'd like to be there to photograph your wedding. Please check out our website at www.northwest-wedding-photos.com Then call (253)875-9949 or email us for an appointment at dana@northwest-wedding-photos.com

Original Holiday Cards

My house has been busy lately with all sorts of distractions which have left us a little behind getting into the Christmas spirit. It's ok. I want to enjoy the season and not rush through it like I too often do.

That said, I'm excited to have finished putting the final touches on our Christmas cards, or in our case, Christmas card magnets from www.MagnetStreetWeddings.com We chose the magnet design shown below and changing the photos, colors, text, fonts along with a couple minor tweeks, this design is OUR OWN.

Designing Your Wedding Program

Wedding programs are increasing in popularity and are a great way to let your guests know what is on the agenda for the day.

Prepare your wedding program with your companion. This can be a fun and interesting project to work on together because you can be as creative as you want. Many couples choose to make the programs themselves but you could also order them from the same company as you order your invitations and thank you notes.

Some ideas to include in the program:

Date and time of wedding
Elements of the ceremony including:
o Songs or music played
o Officiant
o Bridal party members
Personal message from the bride and groom
Special thanks
Pictures

Your wedding program can add to the overall theme of your wedding and be a great way to let your guests know that you appreciate their attendance.

As your wedding photographers, we'd like to know in advance what is on the agenda for the day as well. That way, we can be prepared to capture all the special moments throughout the day in digital photos that will last a lifetime.

Wedding Day Transportation

Typically, couples choose a limousine to transport them on the big day but you can add originality to your day by making your arrival as unique as your wedding.

Think about your wedding's theme and consider transportation that may add to it. If you are having a summer outdoor wedding, consider arriving on a tractor. If you both love to golf, arrive in a golf cart. Love to ride bikes? Arrive on a motorcycle.

Maybe you'd like something more traditional but would prefer to not rent a limo. In that case, an SUV or classic car may be the perfect choice.

Whatever you choose, ask the vendor where you are renting for proof of license and insurance, what amenities are included in the price, and if a chauffer is included what his attire will be.

And, we want to be there as your wedding photographers to catch your arrival. Please check out our website at www.northwest-wedding-photos.com Then call (253)875-9949 or email us for an appointment at dana@northwest-wedding-photos.com

The Wedding Day Schedule

The day of the wedding should be as stress-free as possible. To make your day run smoothly, schedule your day beforehand so time doesn't fly by you.

Don't pull an all-nighter the night before. Wake up early enough to have breakfast and a relaxing shower. If your wedding is in the evening, eat a healthy lunch beforehand. Having a bridesmaid assigned the task of helping to make sure you have food available will make it easier for you to concentrate on getting ready.

Schedule your photographer to take as many pictures as possible before the ceremony. Time passes quickly between the ceremony and reception so plan accordingly.

Plan a few minutes into the day for you and your new spouse to spend alone. Whether on the drive from the ceremony to the reception or at the ceremony venue after everyone has left, take a few minutes to look at each other and enjoy your moment.

At the reception, plan the activities early in the evening. Guests may need to leave early and won't want to miss any of the festivities. Also, close the bar 30-60 minutes before the end.

When you're scheduling your day, we'll work with your schedule to photograph your special moments. Check out our website for our available packages at www.northwest-wedding-photos.com Then call (253)875-9949 or email us for an appointment at dana@northwest-wedding-photos.com

Thinking about your wedding at work?

Sitting in your cubicle or office for at least eight hours a day, it's easy for your mind to drift occasionally. When wedding plans are on your mind, that drifting can happen all the more often.

Make a schedule and stick to it while working. Try to work on wedding planning only during your 15-minute breaks and lunch.

Work is probably not as exciting as your wedding. Consider asking for a special project that may hold your interest better.

If necessary, take a few vacation days. A couple days off will enable you to meet deadlines. For instance, if invitations must be in the mail by a certain date, this may be a good time to take a day off and get them done. Give enough notice of your intended days off so your workload isn't falling on your co-workers shoulders.

Your wedding party and family are probably pestering you with questions of "what can I do to help?" Instead of your standard response of, "Nothing", delegate to them. They'll be happy to help especially if they know your work is suffering.

Please take a moment to check out our website at www.northwest-wedding-photos.com Then call (253)875-9949 or email us for an appointment at dana@northwest-wedding-photos.com Finding the perfect photographer can be one thing you check off your list.

Involving the Groom

The groom's involvement in the wedding planning varies from couple to couple. Some grooms may want to share in all aspects of the planning. Others are dragged kicking and screaming from catering interview to venue walk-through.

If your fiance is in the later group and you'd like him to be a little more involved, ask him what he would like to help with. If he isn't detail oriented, don't bog him down with every minute plan. Also, don't ask him for his opinion if you have already made a decision.

Whatever the groom's involvement in the wedding plans, he should be part of registering for gifts.

Start your life together by working as a team on the wedding planning.

We'd love to meet with you and the groom. Please check out our website at www.northwest-wedding-photos.com Then call (253)875-9949 or email us for an appointment at dana@northwest-wedding-photos.com

Engraving the Wedding Rings

Once you've chosen the perfect wedding band, add sentiment by having the band engraved. Ring engraving can take several weeks so plan ahead.

Ideas for engraving include:
the wedding date
a pet name
a sentimental expression

Whatever you choose to engrave, keep it short. Not much more than 25 characters can fit inside a ring.

We'll be sure to capture the feelings your rings symbolize through our quality, digital photography. Please check out our website at: www.northwest-wedding-photos.com . Then call or email us for an appointment at dana@northwest-wedding-photos.com or (253)875-9949.
