This question was sent by Darlene, in PA,
We went to a cake tasting last week, the cake pictures were nice that she showed us, but the cake didn't measure up, they are in the right price, the baker has called us several times,my question is what do I tell them as to why we can't use them? Any suggestions?
First of all, cake is one of the most important things of your wedding, because that is the final of the meal,
Sometimes cakes look beautiful in the pictres but the taste has to go with it, I will use myself on this one, as to how I handled this recently, someone came in with a great looking cake for us to try, Well when I bit in to it, well lets say, it was very bitter, So after a while no one said anything, so the answer was quite simple for us we said thank you for yor time, and we will let you know, So I sat down, wrote a Thank you card, thanking them for there time, and then explained it was not the type of cake that I was looking for my event, So then a few day's later she called, oh no what do I do, well, I told her the truth, that it was not very good, but was my take on it, So just bow out gracefully , just ssend a quick email or a card, and leave it at that, will be your best bet. Remember don't settle on the cake, there are great bakers who will work with you, or find a great cooking school, that can be a way of helping you stay in budget.
