Hi Ladies! I've just finished with two planning meetings, back to back. Both couples had no clue which music to use for their specialty songs or how to choose their dance music for their wedding. So, here are my tips for choosing the best music for your wedding.
1. For your specialty songs, make sure both bride and groom agree. Your dj should have suggestion lists for each segment. If not, you do a google search for wedding music. There are tons of lists on the internet and most of them are very good.
2. Try to limit the "Do Not Play" list to just a few key songs. With AMT Entertainment, we will only play songs and genres that can be danced to, so you won't have to worry about the hard core rap or rock, or other music that is inappropriate. If you are not using us, definately communicate your wishes to your dj. But remember, even though you may not love the Electric Slide and other wedding standards, most of your guests will be expecting them. And they do help to get everyone involved.
3. Keep your "must play" list short and sweet. 8-10 songs max. Your dj's job is to take your music tastes and make a great dancing night out of it. If you restrict your dj to playing only what is on a list you've created, you will not get the optimum performance. You're paying good money for him, let him do his job (he should love it)!
4. Most of all, if there have been previous marriages in either person's life, make sure you include those weddings songs on the "Do Not Play" list.
I hope this information helps you in your search for the perfect music. If you have any questions, feel free to call me directly!
Sincerely,
Ann Marie

In my efforts to stay competitive and up to date, I've often browsed the websites of other local Mobile DJ companies. Upon reading the FAQ page, I always find the question "Do you do this full time or are you a weekend warrior?".
The answer has always been something to the tune of "We are full time. You don't want to go with a part time dj. They don't have quality equipment or services. They're going to have a limited selection. They won't give you the attention you deserve. They might have to work their full time job and leave you high and dry." Believe it or not, this is what I've read!
Being a "part time" mobile dj company for the past several years, this used to bother me. Now that I have quit my day job and made AMT Entertainment an official "full time" mobile dj company, I realize some very important information that I wanted to share with inquiring brides.
The major difference between a "part-" and "full-" time mobile dj company is the price. Several factors affect why the price is higher, but it always is! It could be that one dj is trying to make his fortune with one system, but doesn't want to be booked EVERY weekend, so he starts to charge more. Or it could be that a larger company has to hire dj's to run the company's systems, so they not only have to maintain the company, but also have to pay the employees. Whatever the case, the price is always higher.
Another difference is the saturation of their schedule. This is not necessarily a negative thing. More experience means better quality.
But all in all, there's not much difference between full time and part time companies, other than the price. You have many full time companies that don't give the greatest service and many part time companies that pour their heart and soul into your event.
So where does that leave AMT Entertainment? We used to think we were a "small fish" with the heart of a "big fish". Now, I think it's the other way around. Being a husband and wife team, Ben still works his full time position. But I spend my days working on our business. We don't plan on raising our prices. We are confident and proud of what we charge. You still get the absolute best service possible.
Enjoy!

Imagine looking over at the dj table and having the connection as if you've hired your best friend to entertain at your wedding. Think that's impossible? The biggest compliment that we get at AMT Entertainment is our brides and grooms begging us to stay in touch, saying they feel as if they've known us forever and that we've made their day so special.
How does AMT Entertainment do it? We treat people differently. It's not just about the amount of time we spend with each couple planning their customized reception, or about how we actually perform at the wedding itself. It's about being there when we're needed. It's about answering the phone and talking with our clients as if they were our friends, not our customers. It's about taking an interest in helping, when a bride needs a referral for a cake, or photographer, or another vendor they haven't found yet. It's about working with our clients to make their dream wedding come true.
THAT is what makes AMT Entertainment different from the rest. You don't get a company who's hired a staff of dj's and just trained performers. You get a husband and wife who truly love helping couples and being a part of the blessed union of marriage. You get a man whose personality lights up the room when he smiles; who loves his technology and his music, and uses that love to entertain your guests; and who knows how you to make you laugh when you want to cry. You get a woman who not only is a trained entertainer as an actor and vocalist, but has committed her full time to the business of making your wedding entertainment the best it can be.
Although when it comes to equipment and performance, we still stand out from the crowd, we feel our greater advantage is us. Ben & Ann Marie.

Hello ladies, and the few gentlemen who are taking the time to help with the wedding planning.
Some exciting changes have just taken place in AMT Entertainment. First of all, we have stepped up our lighting package to the next level. Soon, you'll be able to see pictures on our website of the new package. The exciting part of this is that we know it will make our receptions even more fun and hip than before. It's a move we've been wanting to make and now have found it possible.
I'm sure you're wondering why lighting is so important at your wedding reception. Here are some good points to think about...
1. Dance Club lighting sets the mood for a party.
2. Your guests will feel more at ease to dance and really let loose when the lights are pumping.
3. The lighting, along with the music, will make the night a memory your guests will continue talking about long after the party is over.
So, when you book your dj, remember to inquire about lighting. Usually, upgraded lighting will be extra. Be sure to ask exactly what that "upgrade" includes. You don't want to be cheated out of your money!
Talk with you soon!
