My husband and I got married on a holiday weekend and as a result, not everyone we invited could come. I suppose that is the risk we took when we chose to marry on a holiday. Thankfully, we still had a full house. But, as we found out and as you might be realizing now, there is more to choosing a wedding date than just choosing the wedding date.
What if you want to have a theme wedding and specifically, on the fourth of July? What choice do you have if your heart is set on getting married in the church you grew up in and its only available on or near a holiday? What if youre not budging on having an outdoor wedding when the #^&*$ flower is in full bloom~ and that is extremely important to you? Or, what if your fiance' is being deployed on or near a holiday and you want to be married by then?
There are so many variables in choosing your wedding date. Make a list of your "must-haves" and then look into the schedules of your close family members. Check where the holidays and special or religious observances fall on the calendar, consider school vacation dates, etc. before you make your final determination. You may have to be flexible, based on your list of must-haves and choosing your wedding date. No worries, it will come together!
