Originally a graphic designer, I offer my services to various organizations. The Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) happens to be one. I donate my services to help promote art and independent films alive in Hawaii. HIFF is a non-profit organization their mission is to promote cultural understanding of the East and West through the art of cinema. Now that's a mouthful! The HIFF 11th Annual Spring Showcase is coming up on April 18-24 check out

Which brings me to an ah-duh moment I haven't shared with you yet! And I can believe that I totally spaced! With my involvement with HIFF, I was honored to attend their Oscar Night America gala at the Halekulani in Waikiki. This fundraiser, is one of only 49 "Oscar Night" parties sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, we enjoyed a telecast of the awards show that ran 90 minutes ahead of the regular tape-delayed broadcast shown in Hawaii. HIFF also raised additional funds with a silent auction.
