This past weekend was another great shoot on the North Shore over at Turtle Bay Resort. The challenge becomes where to shoot, there are so many choices. The couple eloped from California and were so happy to be able to receive proofs before they left Hawaii.
Photographing weddings in Hawaii for destination couples poses a different challenge than for a couple that lives here.
Building a relationship with a client is so important to a photographer because it helps us help you to be more relaxed in front of the camera on you wedding day. I always photograph a couple prior to the wedding to see how they are in front of the camera to build rapport.
How do we meet this challenge when they're so far away? This is where email, IM, and cell phones are key into building a relationship so far away. Being more accessible to my couples with these on line tools has been key to when we actually meet face-to-face. Even if I have not photographed them before it's pretty close.
