You may already have a time of year in mind when you would like to get married -- but if not, here are a few ideas that may help:

Consult with family and close friends to see when their schedules are free.

Also, check your calendar to ensure your wedding won't conflict with either yours or your fiance's religious holidays.

Although June, August and September are the most common wedding months, you may wish to hold your wedding in a different month. Consider the weather in your intended honeymoon location.

When you are setting your wedding date, allow ample time to plan your wedding. It may take a few months to set up your vendors, get your invitations out, and finalize your wedding plans.

If you have a venue where you want the wedding, check with them to see if it is available on the date you want.

It takes a little time to do all this ... but following these ideas, choosing your wedding date can be a check off item on your planning list.
