Engagement Ring Terminology: Metals

As soon as you tell people that you are engaged, the most common next question will be, "May I see your ring?" You'll want to dazzle all those question-askers with a fabulous engagement ring. While you may already know the Four C's of Diamonds, your metal options also deserve some consideration.

Yellow gold is traditional and popular. The hue of yellow gold is complimentary to most skin tones and is the most cost-efficient. A 24k gold wedding ring is made of the purest and most expensive gold, but it is also the softest gold so it will nick easily.

White gold is an option if you prefer the shine of platinum but can't afford the cost. It is a nice middle-ground to gold and platinum. Rings can be made of both white and yellow gold in braided and carved designs.

Platinum is the hardest metal which makes it the most durable. It also makes it the most expensive. Platinum has a silver sheen which helps make white diamonds appear even brighter.

Titanium is gaining popularity as an engagement ring metal. It is light-weight and strong. Titanium has a silvery-white color.

Whatever you metal you choose your engagement ring is sure to impress everyone who sees it. We'd like your wedding photos to be just as impressive as your jewelry.
