Traditionally veils were worn to ward off evil spirits; nowadays they're much more likely to be a fashion statement than a protector. Whatever the reason you choose to wear a veil, there are some important factors to consider when finding the right veil or for you.

If you are wearing an ornate dress, stick with a simpler veil and vice versa. Also, if your veil has ornamentation it should start below any on the dress. And if you want the back of your dress to be prominent, wear a shorter veil.

Your veil should compliment your dress from the front and the back so be sure to get a full back view of the veil with your dress.

If you decide that a veil isn't right for you, consider a tiara, sparkly barrettes, flowers, or hairpins as alternatives.
