Traditionally, the best man and maid of honor give a toast at the reception to the bride and groom. For people not used to public speaking, this can be nerve-racking. Make it easy on your wedding attendants by passing on these helpful tips:
Speak about what the day means to the couple.
Share how you feel about the couple and marriage.
Tell a funny story about the couple. (Remember this is a toast, not a roast, so don't make fun of them.)
Speak about both the bride and groom.
Have the toast prepared beforehand and practice it.
Even if you attendants aren't practiced public speakers, their toast will make the day even more special by sharing what is in their hearts.
