Increasingly popular, save-the-date cards help inform your guests of your wedding before the formal invitation is sent. They are especially helpful if you are planning a destination wedding or if the wedding date is on a holiday weekend.
The save-the-date card can be as informal or formal as you desire. All it has to include are the date and location of the wedding. If an exact location hasn't been chosen yet, the city and state are enough information. Include the phrase, "Formal invitation to follow."
Some of our brides like to print an informal portrait of the couple on one side of the card.
Send the card at least six months before the wedding date -- but if your details are already planned, the sooner you send the card, the better. That will make it easier for your guests to plan their schedules so they can attend.
If many of your guests will be arriving from out of town, helpful information to include with the save-the-date card will be hotel, airfare and transportation information.
Letting your guests know your wedding date by sending save-the-date cards will enable more people to share your special day with you.
Another great item to let your guests know is this -
www.northwest-wedding-photos.com has a new bridal registry. Friends and relatives can sign-up on-line and help pay for your wedding coverage, prints, and albums. They can even pre-order wedding prints for themselves.
