Understanding Bridesmaid Dress Styles

When you asked your closest friends to stand up with you as your bridal attendants, the first thing they probably thought was how happy they are for you, the bride. The second thing they thought was probably, "What am I going to have to wear?"

An easy way to make sure all your bridesmaids look their best is to choose the color and then let your bridesmaids pick their own dresses.

If you prefer a more streamlined look for your line, here is a breakdown of dress styles you may wish to choose from:

A-Line: Vertical seams run from shoulders to a flared skirt. Flatters most body types.
Empire: The waistline is directly under the bust and flows straight down.
Ball Gown: A fitted bodice and waist flairs into a fill skirt.
Sheath: Form fitting with a narrow skirt.

Picking bridesmaid dresses that suit your attendants takes a lot of patience and understanding. While the bride should have the final say, be considerate of the bridesmaids' body types, coloring, and budgets.
