Need a kick start? Here is a scenario we at Celebrations by the Sea ( www.beachweddings101.com ) had in June of 2005:
It was the 20th Anniversary of the movie THE GOONIES which was filmed locally in Astoria, Oregon. We had two couples, one couple from the midwest who were getting married and another couple coming all the way from New Jersey who wanted to renew their vows.
How in the world could we create ceremonies around a kidﾒs movie???
Very simply we decided, rent out the GOONIE HOUSE!!! The wedding cakes were done as ﾓtreasure chestsﾔ, their keepsake marriage certificates were done on treasure maps and of course we invited SEAN ASTIN to be a witness. Let me repeat that... OF COURSE we invited SEAN ASTIN to be a witness! That is about as unique as it gets and even got a mention in the December 2006 edition of SPIN magazine.
If you have an idea just GO with it! Youﾒll be surprised how all the pieces will come together once you get started. If you do need a little help, make sure you talk about your idea with your consultant BEFORE you hire her/him and that they show the same enthusiasm about your theme that you do. The idea is for them to assist you with YOUR ideas not take over and change everything. Whether a romantic theme at a gorgeous destination or a FUN theme make your ceremony a day no one will soon forget.
