Any makeup tips to share so my makeup will look good all day?

I'm worried about my makeup staying put through the wedding and reception. Any tips welcome.

I use benefit F.Y..eye, a base for eyeshadows everyday and it really helps keep my makeup in place. I would take a look around their website, I think they have several primers. Also I saw a cream liner with application brush advertised on QVC and its waterproof and made for sensitive eyes. I have yet to use that product but it seemed like it would stay in place for days!

In addition to the mineral powder and water-proof make-up like Cherishing suggests, I have found that using foundation on my lips before applying my lipstick or gloss helps it last longer and will not bleed off the lip.
As far as the rest of your makeup, buy some aerosol water like Evian, lightly spray your face after your make up is applied. this also sets your make up for the day. practice this technique first, you'll want to very lightly spray like a fine mist over your face, you don't want to make it "wet" or "damp" feeling.

Have a great day! Congratulations

I would go with a mineral powder, there are a couple of companies out there, but it's what they use in the movies to keep you evenly toned and without all the shine. It also doesn't seriously clog your pores.

Face powder and lip gloss or stick is definitely a must, especially if you have a long picture taking session or are in outdoor environments. One of the stylists that I use has her own "make-up" touch up kit that is included in her package. If budget isn't a factor, I've also brought hair and make-up person back for touch up session just before the ceremony for events that are longer (ie: they started at 10am with pre-ceremony events) but ceremony wasn't until 5:30pm.

Cherishing makes a great comment about face powder - that will set your foundation and keep it in place longer.

Another tip I would add is to make sure you have been color-matched with your proper shade of foundation close to the day of the wedding. Most of us tend to be a slightly different shade in different times of the year, a little more pale in the winter and a little more color in the summer. If your foundation shade isn't correct, it will show in your wedding pictures.

I would definitely recommend that you or one of your bridesmaids carry some face powder and lip gloss/stick as you will want to touch both of these up through out the event.

However going with a mineral based foundation and powder will be your best bet. Not only will a mineral base give you the optimum coverage for the longest amount of time; your skin will appear nearly flawless.
My favorite compact powder is Youngblood but check with your hair dresser. Any professional product purchased through your Salon should no doubt do the trick.

By the way, applying foundation to your eye lids before applying your eye shadow and using a water proof eye liner and mascara should hold your eye make-up through the night.
