Can I dress white linens in a way that won't make them look stark white with an ivory and gold dress?

I am fair skinned and want to choose and Ivory colored dress, but the reception site only offers white linens.

See if there is an option to have overlays (either rented or purchased by you)... this will cover the top of the table that has the most surface space and will still allow for colors to work well with your ivory dress. Keep in mind you won't be sitting long - so the linens shouldn't be too much of a worry...good luck!

Hello Bride to Be,
I'm an interior designer so i deal alot with colors. I too got married in an ivory dress. You can definitely pull off the white linens at the reception by playing with lighting. Check with the reception sight to see if their lights have the option to be dimmed. lower lighting will make any white look softer and ivory-like. Like Cara said, centerpieces will offset it too. Make the white look intentional! allow for a mixture of white and ivory flowers to part of your centerpiece arrangements as this will play tricks with the eyes so the white linen won't look so stark white! Hope this helps you! good luck and congratulations.

Find out if lighting accommodations can be made. If they can darken parts of the room or have lighting that changes the color, no one will notice the color of the linens.

I think really colorful centerpieces will cause the white linens to kind of 'fade' into the background.

Flower petals on the tables could soften that a bit too.

Best Wishes!

Cara
