I think if you like both colors, a ivory dress would be beautiful for you, and then have your bridesmaid where the champagne colored dresses.

There are so many different options to choose from, but alot will be determined by the type of flowers/decor that you envision for your wedding as well is what is in season.
Burnt orange, deep reds and yellows is also very pretty, but the color hues don't always compliment everyone's complexion. You may also want to look at bridal dresses that you are interested in as that also can play a big factor in the way your final color palettes.

Congrats! I'm a future fall bride. My colors are pumpkin, espresso, and merlot(burgundy). I think you can have any color you want for your wedding. DON'T let anyone tell you different and GOOD LUCK!

remember when you pick your color to stay with the same fabric. if you go with a white silk wedding dress and satin bridesmaid dresses, the white silk will look dingy and faded against the white satin. you can find a lot more tips on the message boards at http://flowergirlprincess.com .
i cant remember all of them :)

My favor colors for a Spring/Summer weddings are Lavender/Baby Pink or Mint/Peach...For Fall/Winter weddings I would have to go with a Medium Country Blue/Mauve or Hunter Green/Burgandy combo.
What ever you choose I am sure it will be wonderful
To have the champagne or ivory wedding dress stand out, use a darker contrasting color such as wine or chocolate for the bridesmaids.

I was just in a wedding where the bride and flower girls wore ivory and champagne dresses and the maid of honor and bridesmaids wore latte and ivory with burgandy roses and other burgandy flowers accented with yellow sunflowers
In Japan, orange and black are reserved for special occasions.

FYI the above mentioned Claret is a wine-hues red. I would suggest staying away from blues and greens unless you choose a suitably rich green such as Emerald. The suggestion of Chocolate brown is a good one since it is popular and your bridesmaids may already have appropriate accessoris and shoes. Even if you want them to buy something special - there's a lot to choose from since that shade of brown has become "the new black". I would also suggest any rich and deep yellow such Goldenrod. Deep wine hues such as the above mentioned Calret are great as well as Burgendy or deep purples (but not lavender or periwinkle). Burnt Umber which is a sort of burnished copper is also nice for fall as well as Gold but gold is hard to pull off without looking like a Vegas review! You can, however, pair gold highlights in flower arrangements with the other colors since gold goes so well with Ivory.
