Is it OK for the junior bridesmaid to have a different dress than the other bridesmaids?

I'm having my 12 year old niece in the wedding as a junior bridesmaid, and I can't decide on a dress for her. I don't want to dress her in something that makes her looks older.

Definitely! Another consideration is that if your bridal party has different body types, you can certainly have different styles of dresses in the same colors that accentuate their features and they'll love you for it!

Yes, it's absolutely ok to have your junior bride's maid in a different dress. Often, an mature style that's perfect for your adult attendants would look costumey on a younger girl/lady. Your entire bridal party doesn't have to be matchy-matchy... there's a huge trend for all the attendants to wear a slightly different style. So, just have fun.

I have three adult bridesmaids and a junior maid. I decided to have the junior maid and flower girl be "mini-brides" with fun white dresses found on sale in the spring. I kept the flower girl in all white and the junior maid had touches of colors from the bridesmaid dresses. They looked amazing and coordinated! Don't forget to get matching flowers (smaller scale) for the junior maid.
