For my wedding, I used table top battery operated fountains (they were about $5 each from overstock.com) and then put small floral wreaths around the base, it was nice, and a lot of the guests were thrilled to go home with a fountain.
Another idea I have seen that is pretty basic, is to take photos of you and your fiance and put them in inexpensive frames (the dollar store should have frames that will work) put flower petals around them, or you could use a basic floral arrangement behind it, or buy some inexpensive putted plants and wrap the put in tissue paper to put behind the photo.
Overstock.com and orientaltrading.com are great places to find inexpensive items
A small mirror, square or round. Build on that with your colors - long burning candles in a holder that is tall enough to be elegant but narrow enough to see around. Your flowers, greenery, faux petals or interesting glitter scattered around the base.
Any number of helpers can set these up, requiring minimal instructions from you. This leaves you free to get ready and not worry over little details.
