What is the most unique wedding favor you have seen?

I want to do something different for our wedding favors. I've seen people do a candy buffet, so everyone can build their own favor. Any other creative ideas?

A photo booth - your guests go home with sometimes many photo strips to remember your special day with! The photos typically end up on Facebook or other social media sites. Photo booths also help people stay a little longer at your reception vs. eating and leaving right away.

For our wedding one of the favors is getting to take photo-booth pictures that have our names and the wedding date on it. It's something that is fairly cheap and it gives the guests a way to take home pictures of themselves on our wedding day and keep that memory forever! Hope this helps!

one of the cutest wedding favors i've ever seen is a tin favor with a personalized label and ribbon around it -- in beautiful turquoise blue, my favorite color!

I'm attempting a "green" wedding, and have considered tree seedlings to double as center pieces and favors. I'm a member of the ArborDay Foundation, and able to get bundles of 50 seedlings that end up being less than a dollar each. They offer pre-packaged seedlings in plastic tubes with personalized labels that can then be used as a bird feeder (I think they're $3 each), but I might make a base for each seedling wrapped in fabric for a more decorative look.

Wow - these are some great ideas! I love the flip book one that Amber listed.
I too am considering my options right now. To me, the best favors are the ones that you can take home and use.
My favorite so far was actually a shower favor; my girlfriend bought everyone these purse hangers. I love it and use mine all the time. I never saw one before and would like to do them for my shower, but I don't want to copy her. We are planning on using small tomato plants (white tomatoes!) as foliage for our centerpeices. We have bought new terra cotta pots and will attach a small note to take them home at the end of the evening. My fiance and I are avid gardeners and chefs, so it seemed only appropriate to offer something we enjoy together to our guests. As an added bonus we can donate the extras to the school where I work as a science and math teacher, so the children can tend the tomatoes.
We have also gathered seeds from our garden (both sunflower and marigold) and I have made small envelopes with a printed thank you message. I am hoping that between the two everyone will feel welcome to save something from our special day.

I've been to a lot of weddings, but there are only 3 wedding favors that I can even recall. One was a little terra cotta pot with seeds to plant in our garden when we got home. It tied in with the bride and groom planting seeds together in a pot instead of lighting a unity candle. It was a very sweet gesture, but I do wonder how many guests actually used them.

The next favor that comes to mind was pretty cute because of the meaning. The groom was a pilot and the bride was a dentist, so they put a toothbrush and a candle inside one of those in-flight air sickness bag with a personalized note.

But my favorite party favor so far goes to my friends who had a flip book company at their reception. It was so much fun! My friends and I made a short video, then we watched as the workers printed, cut and stapled our flip books right in front of us! It kept us busy while the bride and groom took pictures and we got to take home a party favor with us dancing inside the book. It was awesome. Even the flip book covers were in the colors of the wedding with a picture of the couple and a personalized message on the back. My finace and I are going to hire them for our wedding. At a recent pre-holiday wedding I officiated at, the favors were pretty little red or silver heart shaped ornaments (wedding colors) with red and silver ribbon. The red ribbon was printed with their name and wedding date, and the silver ribbon was krinkled, and then they attached a wedding day thank you note/poem.

The favor is totally romantic, cute and something you would keep to hang on your tree, and its non-fattening!

For my wedding my husband and I picked out 15 songs and had them turned into a personalized CD. The CD included the song I walked into, our first dance, and the father-daughter dance. Our DJ burnd them for us and we scaned one of our favorite photos of us for the CD cover. We bought empty cases from Best Buy and inserted the covers ourselves. We created a good mix of music styles so everyone would have something they liked, and it cost less then those hard candy almonds.

I think the most memorable gifts are the ones that express the bride and groom's personality. I, for one, love to sew, and plan on making my bridesmaids dresses myself. A great gift would be a small sewing kit personalized with our names on the outside cover. If you are a musician, personalized guitar pics would be a great gift. Be creative, and your guests will love it!

for our upcoming wedding we are going to put our own labels on water bottles. everyone drinks water, right? so i thought it was foolproof! plus you have an opportunity to put a "thank you for coming" note as well as your names and wedding date!!!

For our upcoming May wedding, we're making roses from Hershey Kisses. They look like rose buds when you take two kisses and glue them bottom to bottom,use florist wire to use as a stem, then wrap colored plastic wrap around the two kisses. The hard part is using florist tape to wrap aroung the base of the kisses (to hold the plastic wrap down) then bring the florist tape all the way down the florist wire (stem) You can put fake leaves on the stem as your doing the florist tape. Or you can make "thank you" leaves out of paper and tie on with ribbon.

We got married in July and had the coolest wedding keepsake for our guests. Brian and I had our love story written in a beautiful booklet with our engagement photos and one of our snapshots from when we were dating . We printed enough for each of our guests. Depending on your budget you can do just about anything you can think of.

We did one wedding where the couple made and bottled their own wine. They customized it with labels. Then, we actually did the centerpieces out of the wine bottles. Each were tagged with the guest's name and they just took it with them.

I also did a wedding where both the bride and groom were accountants. So the favors were two pencils with their names and wedding date on them tied with a mini keychain calculator.

Soaps, candles, shot glasses, chopsticks, personalized candies, fortune cookies, magnets, bookmarks....you name it, you can do it.

For a Tuscan or Wine Country Wedding: Small, personally sized, bottled dipping oils (olive oil w/ basil infusion). To decorate them, they were tied around the neck with twine that had pressed olive leaves attached to the loose ends. The bride's & groom's name in gold script (paint pen) adds a perfect touch.

Wedding favors are getting more inventive all the time! Two favors stand out in my memory. The first: YoYos with the bride and groom's names and wedding date. Guests of all ages enjoyed this fun gift! The second? Vacation gift certificates. The bride and groom paid for their guests to enjoy a return visit at the resort used for the wedding. As you can see, favors can be adapted to any budget!

Two of my favorites are:

Votive candles that also served as escort cards that had guests name on it. They were lined up on ribbon at the reception table that was aesthetically beautiful and guests brought to their tables. When guests went to the buffet, we "reorganized" their candles on the table and lighted them so it also served as candlelight for the table.

Individual thank you notes that were set at each place setting with a contribution made on behalf of bride and groom in their name to a charity. It was a "good thing" to do and also a personal thank you to each guest was appreciated.

We recently had a wedding where the bride and groom gave little pots with bamboo in them for favors. They also doubled as a way to tell the guests where they were sitting. It was creative and the friends and family loved it.

Seed favors molded into biodegradeable paper flowers that stand up pretty in either porcelain or terra cotta pots. The seed favors may be planted by your back door.

Some brides have used the small pewter chairs that hold a seating card as favors.

Personally, I think that a lovely program of the event is one of the most memorable treats. With a dinner reception and lovely entertainment, and getting to share the ceremony, I feel enough is provided. My treat is getting to see two people I care about be married. Even dinner is incidental. For me the focus is "the main thing". Unless this is a family tradition, I personally think favors are not a "priority".

We have seen many different favors given by our brides and grooms. The one that was most memorable for us was the small champagne bottle with Bride and Grooms photo and information on the label from a local vineyard. We also had a Bride and Groom give small terracotta pots with a seed package and a flower bulb&very cute for a country wedding.
