Do I need to print programs for our wedding?

I noticed in a bridal magazine that they where discussing programs for the wedding. Is this necessary? What are your plans for a program?

Programs would be so nice for the reader. Not so much for the 'what's next' in the wedding (people want to look at YOU TWO during the wedding, not paper ;-) - but to read
perfectly, sweetly worded things about you two before the wedding while they are waiting for it to start. Written down thanks for all to read would make all those who helped make the day special love you even more.
I made a slide show shown during the wedding and it ment alot to the main helpers when their names were seen by all.

I think that if your ceremony is long, then you may want to, but if your ceremony is sweet and simple, I would for go it altogether.

I work for FedEx Kinko's. We have a term for wedding season...bridezillas.....lol..

Because I'm going through this phase I'm more understanding than others....Programs are many of the pieces to get ordered. Some say things like special thank yous and relationships between the bridal party members. Like how I(bride) met my BFF aka brides maid or how I even met my fiance....creative stuff like that is something I'm looking forward to drafting for ours....

Good Luck.

soon to be Mrs B.

Personal touches are always nice, but it also depends on your budget and time available. For outdoors weddings, I have programs that are two sided (bridal party on one side and then processional on the other) and they are on a stick, so they are similar to a fan and can also be used by guests to cool themselves off.

Programs are a nice element to add to your ceremony, particularly if you are having a very large wedding.

During summer and early fall outdoor weddings, your program can be printed on a fan, and become a practicial keepsake of your ceremony for all your guests.

Be sure to check with the church where you will be married as I have worked with a few brides who told me their church wanted some input on the program design and usage.
