How do I make Thank You note writing easier?

We have a rather large family so there will be a lot of Thank You notes, any ideas how to make it easier?

not to sound impersonal but you can get pre-printed thank you cards with a message of your choice or go to print free .com and print out your own!

I found it to be easiest to write a short, but sweet bit of thanks while opening each gift, so that I could include the item itself.

Example: Thank you so much for the cookware set, I'm sure I will get many meals to come with this gift! Thank you for helping make my house a home.

With all our love,

I've seen at a wedding that when your guest are signing in have them also write their address on the envelope that you'll be using for your thank you cards. That's one less thing to worry about!

Dear Bride & Groom,
With a quality pen in hand, find a comfortable place in your home where you can relax with your thoughts as you write out your thank you notes. Although not a substitute for a heartfelt and hand-written note, choosing Thank You cards that have a pre-printed sentiment will help to inspire you and set the tone of the note. Think of this task as a privilege and a way of honoring your guest and their gift. Remember to also send a thank you to your wedding party, officiate, those who performed a special service and any professionals that exceeded your expectations.

Organization:
As you are receiving your gifts, you will want to know WHO gave you WHAT and WHEN. One tip might be to use your guest list and record the gift next to their name and address. Choose the method that works best to keep you organized.

Discipline:
Commit to writing a certain number of thank you notes each day. By pacing yourself, you will remain in control of the situation.

Congratulations & Happy Writing,

We suggest making a spreadsheet in Excel after you have listed the gift on a 3.5 post card and written a description of the gift, and who it was given to you by, and their address, and the date it arrived. We also suggest that you either write a note right away OR, send a gift acknowledgement card that is preprinted if as you indicate a lot of gifts are underway. These are pre-printed, and indicate the gift arrived safely, and that a proper thank you note will follow.....you may use just the cards, and then, write a date when you sent the actual thank you note, OR, you can actually, use your guest list in Excel to list engagement gifts, shower gifts, and wedding gifts from each guest, providing this gift is in more than one category, and a column for the name of the gift, the date it arrived, and the date an acknowledgement and then, the thank you note is sent out. Continue to save, save, save, each time you enter information. ALways have someone at a shower or engagement party list the gifts opened there, and the person's name who gave it, and keep up with the cards, etc. Judy Lilley, Lilley Printing Co. Vendor.
