What would be the proper way to invite certain guests to the reception only without being rude?

We want our ceremony to be small, but our reception to be big, and follow the ceremony by about an hour.

I have had couples do this too. Basically, you create two separate invitations. One includes the ceremony information and the other doesn't. For the one that is only the reception you just word everythign the same as far as names, cordially invite you, the date, etc. Then you say something like "Reception to be held at..." and then include the venue and time with the RSVP. This has been very successful for us so far. Good luck!
