My most memorable wedding story or experience
One of my first weddings I photographed taught me to be prepared for anything! The wedding was to be at a family owned property on Mt. Rainier. When I arrived I was informed that the wedding would actually be happening in a grove of trees about 2 miles up the trail. Undaunted I gathered the 75+ pounds of equipment I needed and headed out. The ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt, but just before the exchange of rings I noticed that one of the groomsmen had a toy light saber holstered on his side. I took a photo, thinking it a novelty and continued to photograph. Once the bride and groom had her first kiss the groomsmen and bridesmaids lined up and each, grabbing their own toy light sabers formed a military style processional by holding the star wars replica above their heads. The bride and groom happily ran under the arch they formed and on to the reception. I photographed as quick as I could, I knew this was a once in a life time event!
My favorite past time or hobby
I love to read! I've always been a book worm, long before Harry Potter made it cool. I greatly enjoy the places that a book can take you, and the unbridled exploration of my imagination.
The one item I can't live without
I couldn't live if I didn't have a camera. When I'm not working I'm photographing my children, or thinking about photographing. What can I say, I've turned an obsession into a profitable business. I wish everyone could love what they do as much I me.
Awards I've received
1994 Worst Bowler Ever
My favorite comfort food
Anything that can be Bar-B-Qued!
My favorite movie
Moulin Rouge- Hands down. I love the unique color, and the fasted paced movement. Movies that are willing to visually challenge me add to my inspiration.
My honeymoon
My honeymoon included my new in-laws, my husband's baby brother, and a U-haul that broke down just outside of Issaquah. We were married during the break in-between Spring and Summer Quarters while my husband was still in college and we needed to be back ASAP. I knew it would be a rough trip when the U-Haul caught on fire in front of us. We had it towed into town and the 5 of us were starving. Luckily we happened to be right next to the Famous Tripple X Burger Resturant. Eating there became the highlight of our long trip and now everytime we can we go back for a giant root beer float!
People I'd like to meet
Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, and Abe Lincoln.
Dog, cat, or other
All of the above! Pets are great, they are like toddlers, but a little less attitude.
One thing I'd like to accomplish in life
I'd like to raise my children to be good people. The kind of members of society that still understand the difference between right and wrong and choose to help their fellowmen. If I can do that then I've become a success no matter what else I do.
