My most memorable wedding story or experience
My first wedding in Zihuatanjeo was like landing in paradise. Everything was so green, and warm. It was a normally cold November day when I left Seattle, but I landed in Summer. The sites, views, and everyone who attended the wedding were amazing. Having been back several times since then for weddings I find the same awe and respect for this beautiful place.
My favorite past time or hobby
Photography. . . . really it is. I love taking photos.
The one item I can't live without
My wife and children. My life would be meaningless without them.
Awards I've received
1992 - Present: 11 International Awards through the WPPI.
1976 - Honorman - USMC
1975 - Inspirational swimmer - Arbor Heights swim club. I don't think they really had an award like this at the beginning of that year. But since I really couldn't swim and I would not quit, they created one for me. Why not? I mean they give out awards for 9th Place Finish (I had plenty).
1968 - 4-H Reserved Grand Champion - I know I am reaching especially since it was my Cow that won it. The Bovine was beautiful, but would absolutely not move during the show part of the exhibit.
1964 - Best Director for my 2nd Grade Orchestra (Read: little kids banging drums, and pans)
My favorite comfort food
Frozen Gogurt. I share with Stella (see Dog, cats, or other . .).
Well then there is Bar B Que. . . Holy Hand Grenades in the Mid Section! If I was not a photographer I would be working in a Bar B Que joint.
My favorite movie
"Local Hero" - hands down. It is pretty dated right now but it is about finding yourself in a very busy world.
My honeymoon
We went to Whistler! It was so wonderful to get away, just the both of us. Canada is a very beautiful place, and Whistler exemplifies that.
People I'd like to meet
Tim Wakefield - Knuckle Baller - Boston Red Sox. . . . Anyone who can throw a 38 mph pitch to Barry Bonds, Ken Griffey Jr., or Alex Rodriguez and hope that the ball does what you want it to - is my kinda guy.
My two favorite people that I have met are Dick Spady of Dick's Burgers and Jim Sinegal of Costco. Both are amazing men. They care about their people and are compassionate and very friendly people.
Dog, cat, or other
We have a Rat. I know it sounds as though I was looking for something in the sewer, but we picked it up at the Pet Store. We moved away from Cats as I somehow can only choose the quirkiest Felines available. From "Attack" cats, a cat that I fed while it lived under the bed - I did not see in for about a month! My Stella (our Rat) is a little weird. She sleeps in her food dish, and loves gogurt. . . oh well.
One thing I'd like to accomplish in life
Take my whole family on vacation that lasted until we started to remember all og the reasons we have our own lives. . . .
