My name is Carla Cummins, my husband Aaron and I are your personal Honeymoon, Destination Wedding and Vacation Travel Specialist. Planning romantic travel is our passion since we had a destination wedding ourselves in Jamaica and we continue to have a "honeymoon" (as we like to call it) each year to celebrate our life together.

Thank you once again for arranging our honeymoon to Play del Carmen. Our stay at Playacar Palace was wonderful! We had one of the honeymoon suites with a beautiful view of the ocean! We also enjoyed the jacuzzi right in our room :) Everyone was very friendly at the resort, and we were treated like VIPs. It took us a day to figure out how everyone knew we were honeymooners, though. Everyone would say "oh, congratulations!" and we kept thinking we must LOOK like we were really in love! We soon realized our bracelets that we were branded with the first day were color coded to identify us as newlyweds-ha ha!
Our first two days were warm and sunny and after we settled in, we relaxed by the pool and on the beach. The resort had a special celebration by the poolside for New Year's Eve. We had never celebrated the new year in a different country! It was fun. Tuesday night a storm rolled in offshore, and when we woke Wednesday morning, the temperature was 55 degrees! Too cold for the pool, but just perfect for a trip into the jungle to Chichen Itza, which is what we had planned for that day. James didn't think he would like it, but he ended up recording Much video footage! ;) He enjoyed it!
Thursday was a little warmer, but very windy! The waves were crashing all the way up to the bottom of our deck! We had fun shopping the stores on 5th avenue, and came back with several souveneirs. We also enjoyed some great food at the resort. Every meal was a work of art! We were treated to a special honeymooners dinner one night which was very good. We decided the Italian restaurant there was our favorite. But the guacomole at the Mexican restaurant was fresh and very tasty!
Friday, our last day there, the sun came back out and we were able to enjoy the pool again. We didn't want to leave. We did decide however, that we would definitely return one day.
