My most memorable wedding story or experience
My most memorable wedding was for a couple in Tacoma. The wedding was beautiful, despite the wind, and came off on time. This in itself was a miracle because the bride couldn't figure out how she wanted her hair. The ceremony went off without a hitch - the bride decided to try her hand at the trampoline in her gown. Problem is, when we walked her down to the trampoline - she found the one and only hole in the yard. She fell flat on her face - petticoats and gown in the air and all you saw was crinoline, satin, and her 2 legs kicking. It was the funniest thing and we all had a good laugh, including the bride. No, she was not hurt - the dress was a little dirty, but pictures were already done and the fun was going on.
My favorite past time or hobby
I enjoy boating on the lake I live on and attending martial arts events with my son. He keeps me going daily between martial arts and boating - I will be happy when he hits 16 and can do for himself sometimes. I only have 4 months to wait! then I will worry about him driving alone and getting in an accident. Maybe I will keep on running him until he goes to college, except when he goes on a date. That would kind of damper things for him. LOL!
The one item I can't live without
As far as one item - I can't live without my van. It gets me to all the weddings on time and hauls all my "Stuff". The other item is my sewing machine - without it I can't alter gowns for brides.
Awards I've received
Mason County Chamber of Commerce Vendor Award
My favorite comfort food
I don't have any comfort food to speak of - I'd rather eat healthy and maintain my good health. Is Ice Tea a food?
My favorite movie
Who has time for movies in this business? I think the last movie I watched at home entirely was Apocalypto and it was very good.
My honeymoon
Our honeymoon was in 1982 and we went to Cannon Beach, Oregon and the Portland Zoo. It was December - snowing and very romantic. 2 years later we cruised the Mexican Riviera for 10 days.
People I'd like to meet
That is hard to say - famous people won't remember you anyway. Every day people make more of an impression on me than anyone else. I have met some wonderful brides and grooms over the years and when we meet on the street, they thank me again for doing their flowers and cake and DJ, etc. This is, to me, the most important thing about meeting people.
Dog, cat, or other
2 German shepards, 2 cats, 4 cockatiels, and 2 fish.
One thing I'd like to accomplish in life
I have accomplished all my goals in life - to date. I just want to be able to live to a ripe old age, spend time with my kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. I want to see all 6 of my kids succeed in life. So far, 5 out of 6 have done just that. The 6th one is only 16, so he has a lot of time to find himself.
